Hey guys!

Sorry for the little quiet on my part. My "little" break turned out a bit longer than expected due to some "things" but the Mother's Day Gals and Game Night comic is back on track. The first part should be updated later today or tomorrow afternoon, then I move on to part 2 immediately which should be done in a week.

Thank you for your patience and please stay tuned.

I am always happy to wait! As what you make is always worth it!!

Looking forward to it.

How much of Game Night can we expect this month?

Cory Hummel

I hope for a lot as possible if it's possible from the Game Night this round

In general, I understand that in the West now the "cult of snowflakes" and criticism is perceived as something incredibly rude, painful and generally contrary to etiquette. But here, in the East, it is customary to call a spade a spade. So. Sitri, you are wildly talented. But, bitch, fuck, what a procrastinator! Seriously, buddy. Not that I would require me to draw pictures "on order" for the cost of a subscription, but! One and a half jobs a month? Seriously? "Game Night" - how long has it been going on? A year and a half or two? We are here because of the idiotic sanctions - there were problems with payment, so I fell off for a while. Then I found a loophole to continue to support you, contributed money (if you knew how difficult it is to do it from under fucking sanctions) .... And at the exit I found out that after about six months - nothing has changed! Well, I mean, you finished one comic. Exactly one. A comic about girls who turned into Bimbo and a donkey? Abandoned! A comic book about girls getting into an old amusement park? Abandoned! Game night? Barely moving forward. And here is an additional criticism: metamorphoses are interesting, both of the body and the psyche. Instead - a bunch of fillers, and real transformations - one and a half pieces per update. At the same time, I repeat - you are very talented. But at the same time - terribly lazy! :-) In general - I really hope that you can find ways to somehow inspire yourself to new achievements. I'll even venture to offer you a source of inspiration, if, of course, you want to look: https://chyoa.com/story/Lesson-from-Darkness.53770 In any case, thank you very much for your work. But please, do them a little more per month? :-D

Criticism isn’t seen as rude; insulting the artist you’re choosing to support is. Whether you intend it or not, the way you’ve written this is unreasonably insulting and borderline offensive. Whatever your intentions are, calling Sitri a ‘bitch’ is completely absurd and incredibly unfair. Just to remind you, this artist is charging $1 to view ALL of their works. Compared to most, if not all other artists, that is remarkably affordable. Anything else you choose to pay is your own decision, as much as paying in the first place. Your arguments are not unfounded, however the way you wrote this ‘criticism’ is just fuelled by anger and frustration that you are directly blaming on Sitri. It’s not helpful, nor constructive. Change the wording. To call it passive aggressive is an understatement… just straight up aggressive.

Eugene

Ah, well, there's a mistake here. "Bitch" is not about Sitri. "Bitch" is a "saying" in colloquial Russian, with a playful intonation. Example: "This, bitch, is not a kitten, this is, bitch, a fucking bear!" I simply translated the everyday Russian expression too directly, forgetting that people who do not know our humor will read it.

Wyndon

Perhaps there is a language and cultural barrier here, but just from where I see it your criticism seems a unproductive. I do recognise that I’m putting myself into something that has nothing to do with me, but I just want to defend an artist I respect from what I see as an attack. I probably won’t reply any further unless it’s necessary, but I do think your original comment comes across (whether intentional or not) as very passive-aggressive. That’s all I really have to say. I think a better translation to get your intentions across in a more critical approach would be better. However you are more than entitled to your opinion and how you choose to share it.

I don't think you understand how long this comics take to make. Am gonna give you a road map on how much needs to be made just for one comic. You get an idea you write it down, then you write a story for it this could take a few days to come with an interesting story. Then you need to shorten the story you wrote into conversations between the characters in your story this also can take several hours or days. Then you use daz3d the 3d software that Sitri uses which is a complex 3d software with barely any good documentation on how to use it effectively. Then you designed the before look of your character, clothing, textures, accessories this takes some time to do and then you create the after look with different clothing, textures and accessories. Then you pose the characters with light and cameras for each page this takes forever to do. After you finalized the final look you render the image. Depending on how complex your scene is and how strong your pc is, each render could take from 40 min to 2 hours per page. Sitri gives about 50 pages per update for their comics. Just do the math on how much time is passing just rendering images. Must of the time when rendering your computer is gonna slow down in order to perform the renders so you would probably be unable to use that computer in the meantime so you either have to wait for the renders to finish or have a second computer to work on other stuff. After having your renders completed you use an editor software like photoshop, gimp, or comic life 3 to make frames, add the text and speech bubbles, and retouch your images. After you have all those images you make a pdf. I did not list every step on how to make a comic, just the well known steps. you get about 100 to 150 pages per month for 1 dollar..... I just don't understand how Sitri is lazy. There is a reason why most creators in patreon that do comics in daz barely do comics they do sequences or 1 shot renders for their content. Sitri has 2 comics abandoned lol that is the smallest number I seen for any daz3d comic content creator in patreon.

If the "bitch fuck" interjection was meant to be humorous rather than abrasive, then that's one thing. If not, then I agree with Wyndon - there is a difference between calling a spade a spade, and calling a spade a bitch fucking spade. As to the actual criticism, it seems to me that you are in no position to judge how long these comics "should" take to make. You have no idea how much work goes into them until you've tried to make some yourself, and you have no idea what Sitri's life is like outside of making comics. I'm assuming, by the way, that this isn't their full time job but a hobby and/or side hustle, so take that into consideration. If you don't think that Sitri's work is worth your money, then don't give them your money- simple as that. Maybe pop in once every few months to see what they've produced since; Patreon conveniently enables you to reap everything you've missed by partaking in this manner. And, that's before taking into account that the basic membership is only $1 month, which is ridiculously cheap; it'd be hard to justify that you're actually getting ripped off for that price. I also feel frustrated sometimes by Sitri's rate of output, but I don't post rants like this because I recognize that how much time a person devotes to their hobby is none of my business.

Eugene

It's not about the money. The fact is that, as practice shows, creators, especially talented ones, sometimes damn well need friendly kicks. Sitri is awesome. But we all know that Sitri is a procrastinator. If at least occasionally you do not "kick" - the rate of release of new works will drop to zero altogether.

2023-06-26 21:23:19 Sitri, we will always enjoy the work you put out. "Kicks" not required. Should there every come a time when your release rate drops to near nothing, we'll miss it but we know that life has other pressures than putting out a comic. There will eventually come a time that you will retire. That's okay. VIPcaptions has dropped significantly in the rate of their comics for instance, and that's okay too. I'll still pop in from time to time to see what is out and offer support.

Don't worry, I don't plan to go anywhere anytime soon, but it's a sad fact that eventually most artists move on. I guess our warranty simply expires eventually. I'm especially very sad for VIP, since I still consider him as my "mentor" he was the reason I begin doing 3D art and he helped me getting started with everything. I still hope he finishes his COC series eventually
