I thought I'd give you a sneak peak at the cooking process of one of the medieval cookbook recipes.

This is for a roasted pheasant meal.

I'm trying to make the process a lot more interesting with props that fit the 'theme' and are more detailed to the recipe.

Just a few bloops..

* here you can see the custom oven i'm working on - there is a slightly wacky animation with the food going into the oven (this is because of the tray sliding in and out.. it hovers slightly above but then whilst cooking it snaps back into the correct position. This only happens when putting the food into the oven and taking it out. Personally this doesn't bother me but I have made an alternative oven where the shelf is higher up so the food slides on the shelf without the wonky visual.)

** here my sim is 'stoking the fire' whilst she cooks. This animation fits best with the custom ovens i'm making and may look strange with ea's ovens as she will be poking through the door. I've rectified this by making this animation an add-on, so it's up to you if you'd like to install it! It won't override any other cooking animations, only the recipes it was made for.

I hope you liked this little insight! 😊

i love it I was hoping someone would make like a fireplace/oven hybrid like this because it's more realistic it would be cool if you added light fire to the oven so that the oven could burn all day like how they use to always have a fire going in the kitchen.

The thought and detail that went into this, along with the creative items - I see you OR sink - you really are doing so amazing. Glad to see how much you've progressed. I still use your icecream machine and apple bobbing from Halloween, years ago. Thank you for sharing.

It’s a multipurpose sink 😉 but I love the stone texture it has! Oh wow, that is from a while ago! Gosh it’s so strange how things change as time goes on, sometimes you don’t even realise how long it’s been, feels like only a few weeks ago 😮 I’m glad that you still use those, I remember working on them straight for weeks before simblreen trying to get them to work. I was very determined and still am. This cookbook has had many trial and errors but it is so worth it in the end! 😁

Aww that's great! I love playing historically. I know there's a few challenges out there but I don't stick to the rules 😜 I hope this cookbook will enhance your sims experience!

I utterly adore this. I love to hearth cook and having my historical sims do something I enjoy is always so amazing to watch. Thank you for all the hard work!

Ohhhh, historic looking oven as well? I love this set your working on! I have not downloaded the old cookbook to this point, but with all of these add ons you are working on, it has a new appeal. Thank you!

Hey Jess! Will the Medieval Cookbook recipes be compatible with off-the-grid cooking? Great work love~

littlbowbub

Yes! I managed to figure out how to make them work off the grid! It was something I really wanted to make work, especially with having an open fire oven to cook with 😁
