I paused the next charge, I really tried to be productive this month but I got stuck with projects, testing, bugs and miscellaneous. I did get some things done though, more about that in a bit.

Midnight Woman 2016-2022:
As you can see, I uploaded a comparison picture with a image from "Midnight Woman" which was one of my first projects ever. It was probably the very first of my so-called "visual TG comics/sequences" where I put multiple images together in a video. You can download the original here:

I never made a now and then comparison and I really felt the need to do one for my mental health because the feel of not progressing artistically was quite nagging at me. Doing art constantly while progressing slowly (which is naturally) it may seem you get stuck forever but at least between 2016 and 2022 I'd would claim I did decent enough progress skillwise.
Anyway, I was working on a complete rework of that old project. I got all pages rendered but I'm not sure if I'm fully happy with the edits of every page yet but I potentially can get it done the next couple days.

Random Pin-ups:
I continued working on some thick goblin lady. I'm mostly really happy with that model. I may do something TG with her in the future, I just have to figure out how I want to do it. It's quite tricky since she's really small and I don't just want to do a simple scaling down transition. I also kept working on the Disney style girl. I like the skin but still not sure about the face and hair, the angle isn't the best for both on this picture though.

Animated Pin-up:
I figured out some technique to generate complex noisy deformation which is loopable and with that I created a proof of concept pin-up with animated parts. This would work with real animation too of course but I'm thinking about doing pin-ups in this style regularly if people enjoy it, maybe even sequences. It still can need a bit of polishing and maybe make the body move at least a bit during the loop for future ones. What do you think?

Progress in Blender:

  • Next to to figuring out the noisy deformation mentioned in the 'Animated Pin-up' paragraph I also finally figured out how to get male HD details on a female character for the transformations. You can see it on the HD off/on comparison image (yes that's a female base mesh morphed into male :D) but I made use of it on the animated pin-up too. 
  • Furthermore I did a bunch of bug reporting for the plugin I use to get my characters to Blender and  worked on getting them fixed. The way I work with my assets in Blender is quite complex and I encounter a bug almost daily. The developers are thankfully really responsive and fix most within a day or two. 
  • Last but not least I created some node system with fellow TG artist stger to have the possibility of mixing male and female skin and brush or procedually generate it on the body wherever I want it. This also includes the HD detail displacements on the body. I used this for the 'Animated Pin-up' too.

I'm still working on getting out of the mud in terms of motivation hence another pause of the next charge. Hopefully I can provide a decent amount of content during September. Even though there wasn't content during this month I'll refresh reward links tomorrow.

What are we supposed to notice in the hd detail comparison?

Compare the faces for example, the character is supposed to look more middle aged and on the HD off one it's less detailed and looks less realistic and because there's lesser detail the character looks younger.
