A guy who volunteered for some experiment which changes the body drastically by getting coated in pink goo.

This animation is most likely not something which everyone will enjoy and I myself favor the body to change mostly uncovered too but I wanted to have a challenge with some fluids. :D (Next one will be different)
I worked on this about a week and around half the time I had to figure out some issues and tweaked a lot fluid and hair settings .The effective time for this animation is around 3-4 days I'd say, rather less since rendering and especially simulating the fluids took FOREVER.
It has a bunch of edges but considering everything I personally think it's kinda neat. This was a lot of pain to work on, I won't lie here. On paper it was a pretty simple concept but it turned out more complicated than I anticipated. Fluids in Blender can do a lot but as soon as you work with a bunch of interacting things it'll show it's limitations. If I want to do something more fleshed out or even more complicated in the future I'll probably look for some specialized simulation software like Houdini or Realflow.

2-3 days ago I encountered a issue that I couldn't render the animation. I reworked animations and I tested around to find the error but in the end it seems to be 2 factors: My SLI/NVlink (2 GPUs) doesn't seem to work perfectly in Blender and I don't know why as of now. Because of that I turned it off, since it causes the renderer to freeze/render extremely slow in some cases. The other factor seems to be the built in Motion Blur. I turned that one off too because it can slow down the render time a lot and I do it in post production with a vector pass now.
I currently have the opportunity to get a 3090 cheap which is about 2-2.5x faster in Blender than one of my 2080tis and the 3000 generation has Motion Blur acceleration support by Nvidia. It'd fix both of my issues and by selling my 2080tis I most likely can compensate the costs. I don't know the details right now because it's a friend of a friend but I'll try to make a deal.

Anyway, as always I hope you enjoy and thank you for your support! I hope you had a great weekend.

You always trying to out shine my GPU aren't yah?

I actually wanted to avoid getting a 3000s card because my plan as of now is making a bigger upgrade with the 4000 gen. :D

Every other generation upgrade, as it should be. At least in theory...darn chip shortages.

This looks incredible! Totally unexpected. I could not imagine how difficult the fluid work was but your stuff looks pretty fucking good as it is. Awesome work my friend

I would love to see an extended version of this if you ever get the chance!

Thank you! It definitely was a struggle and could still need some refinement. :D
