agree with vancouver, there will be plenty of people who own their vehicle weather a truck or suv/car. That said, I think there will be plenty who will be happy to not own a vehicle in a big city and eventually in smaller cities, if you can have a reliable and inexpensive alternative that works (robotaxi). I'll believe "not be allowed to drive" when the second amendment goes away!

I agree that people will want to own a car because it'll be an extension of their room. In my car I keep a change of clothes, my gym clothes, stuff to touch up my hair, I keep water I keep my medicines I keep charging equipment for my cameras and my cameras themselves. I keep my electric skateboard and its charger and a bunch of other stuff. I want that stuff available when I'm on the go like at work or whatever. I do agree however that the law will prevent us from manually driving them on places like freeways and city centers. You will be forced to use the robo driving feature. You will only be allowed to drive manually for instance, like golf cart commuters are allowed to drive on slow suburban streets like they do here in Pacific Beach. Perhaps the robo taxi generation will have detachable storage cabinets that are picked up by the robotaxi and brought to you when it meets you and then it drops off the cabinet somewhere. But what about when I take my lunch break? I wanna sit in my car and have all that gear I told you about that I keep in my car? Am I supposed to pull all of that in the giant duffel bag and carry it around all day? This is the part that I disagree with about no more car ownership. Owning a car will be like owning your second bedroom on wheels.
