January 2024 video round up! (Patreon)

I feel like I say this every month, but wow was January busy. We started off the start of the year doing some small DIY projects around the house as we are working towards getting things more and more cozy. Then came the big one: Kyde had surgery. She was in the hospital for six (i think?) nights after they removed half of her thyroid. Everything went very well, but as you can imagine it was a tad stressful. Hopefully there will be a video coming about her experience, but it's production is on hold at the moment because.....right after she got out of the hospital she was offered a temporary job working as a "logistics person" for people coming to Japan for ski tours. She was offered this on a Thursday and on the following Monday she had to report for duty hours away in Morioka to pick up her first group of ~20 guests. So not a lot of time there, haha. She will be back in Tokyo in March, and hopefully then we will be able to get a "Surgery" video produced.

Phew, ok, aside from that we made some videos in January! I really enjoyed editing the video of us scooting together for the first time in western Tokyo. We filmed it with some new cameras that will be great tools for more videos we have in mind in the coming months! If anyone is curious they are a DJI Pocket3 and a DJI action4. I like them so much I want one more of each for projects with ambitious numbers of camera angles haha.

As always I've been trying to get a couple streams on Twitch in per week, and I always try to do a Sunday Morning stream (Japan time) which is fun, been out on Scooty doing some exploring and some photography. As for what is coming, we have a trip to the kite festival in Hamamatsu coming this spring. We hope to get the "us watching us" series started up again once Kyde is back in Tokyo. We are considering a trip to The States this summer which would likely result in some videos from our time there. Lots more from Hokkaido is on the way, and then who knows what else!
