Here are a few full-resolution photos from the day I finally headed out of the Hakodate area north-east across Hokkaido. It was fun but on a less fun note I had to say goodbye to Kyde for a few weeks.

Click on them to open a gallery with a bit of commentary under each photo.

More on the way soon! Thanks as always.

Doing some re-enactments.
Squid is a thing in Hakodate.
You have to be pretty far north to start seeing Russian on signs in Japan.
This looks like a trip to the dentist hahaha.
A bit rare up there, but motorbike shops do exist.
Scooty getting his oil did.
Curious what an oil change costs?
Great little single car diesel train I felt lucky to see.
Scooty getting a bath, a result of catching the little train.
This and Shinjuku are both train stations.
Bit of a soggy scoot.
This dragon was telling me "you just made it in time to get some take-away" hahaha.
I took about 100 pictures of sunflowers, I think this was my favorite.
Volcanoes popping up on the horizon, it's really wonderful when the day is so nice.
You don't often see a "kanji word" that starts with a hiragana character.
A billboard in Sapporo talking about the bullet train line that is being extended north. Still got what...a decade left?
Def be on the lookout for spiderman.
Matsuko Deluxe! haha, I laughed really hard at this. Turns out they are the spokesperson for Hokkaido rice so it actually makes sense.
Tanbo art is really neat.
Setup on some soggy grass.
Neat the campsite we had this little river, just close enough to hear while sleeping.
Plum selfie. Safe for work.
