Progress update #63 (Patreon)

Happy New Year, you guys! I managed to finish all the paintings for the intro last month!

I wanted to post this update sooner but the holidays ended up delaying everything a little bit, I actually just finished editing the Speed Paint video today. Sorry about that!

So, these paintings were supposed to be reminiscent of the storybook illustrations from the show. But I went a bit overboard and added too much detail. They might look good as static images, but I'm not sure how well it works in the intro animation. I'm worried that the fast-paced motion of the transitions might make it difficult to clearly identify the characters and the actions in each image. Nevertheless, I'm still pleased, I really enjoyed painting them!

I did more than just work on the paintings last month though. I've also been doing some pre-production work on the next TBSP episode!

I'll keep working on the G4 was Super Rad music video, but there's no need to rush it. This is a big project, the animatic is done, I just finished all these paintings. This new art style has been working really well for the backgrounds, and I want to put it down to test with some character animation! Specifically, Luna and Celestia, that's the plan for this month!
