Back from vacation! Heard Patreon was going through some glitches, hopefully they've been resolved...

This week I made some progress on the Alphabet Series, adding a third color.

I wanted to draw one of them properly to figure out the final composition. I decided to start drawing C first because I thought if I post them in reverse order it'll look nicer when you look back at my gallery, but I actually think I am going to post A first after all. But also, C is actually an old design I drew in 2017 so I could focus more on figuring out the background than fleshing out the design.

This design in particular made me realize that a square layout would probably be better for presentation, because it's pretty wide horizontally.

Here are some of the rejected compositions that also show some WIP stages of the design. Simply showing the full design on its own was too plain imo.

This one was me giving up trying to make a composition worthy of an art print and following this sketchbook style trend on Twitter that I really like personally, where you have multiple images in one. But something about this still didn't feel right.

I wanted a background that was more pretty and aesthetically pleasing, and turned back to art nouveau as my inspiration. You can sort of see hints of me playing around with the negative space panels in the og thumbnails, but I think I finally figured it out.

I did update the design still! One crit I got on the old design was that the bra was kinda grannylike, so I tried to draw a more modern bodice. Unfortunately, the pearls looked busy with the new bodice, so I had to remove most of them. I also added a gradient to the pants so they would more closely resemble the waves that inspired them.

I'm really happy with how this is looking so far, but I definitely want to try this on one of the other designs before I say it's good.
