After my encounter with the Volturi, I was hit with the harsh truth I was not as invulnerable as I thought I was, which meant I had to say prepare for things like this in the future, I had to… we had to.

“Next time we will kill that little blood sucking rat!” Venom hissed, understandably angry at what had happened a few days ago.

“I would love nothing more than to kill that bitch, but…. all she needs to defeat us is a freaking glance as it seems,” I cursed under my breath, stupid broken power…

“I know,” Venom grumbled, “But I think I have a solution…” he added with uncertainty, perking up my curiosity.

“Elaborate,” I was rather intrigued as to what was Venom’s plan.

“Well, whatever it was she did, it seemed to be purely illusionary, meaning the pain was not there but it was made so that us felt like it was,” Venom answered, “So… what if… we couldn’t feel pain?”

“Cutting our pain sensors….? Would that work against illusionary pain?” I wondered out loud.

“Plan B, would be to blind her… if she can’t see us, she can’t hurt us, and considering how puny she looked, I doubt she will resist more than a single hit from us,” Venom hissed with confidence.

“That is true, but if plan A doesn’t work, we won’t get to use plan B,” I sighed.

“I… I think plan A will work,” Venom sighed, “How can’t she make us feel pain, if our body can’t process pain?”

“It’s worth a shot,” I chuckled.

“It certainly does,” Edward muttered, entering my room, “The Volturies won’t ever stop you know?”

“Cause they think I’m a unique vampire or something?” I sighed, rubbing my temples as he nodded, “I know, which is why next time… I won’t be defeated, that is the art of war, to be ready to face any possible outcome,” I would know, I was a soldier once.

“They also want Alice,” Edward added, “The only reason they haven’t killed Carlisle and everyone else is because they… want to keep they farce of their ‘benevolent’ rule, but the moment they do… we won’t stand a chance, you might be able to kill Jane, but there are enemies in the Volturi you won’t be able to face,”

“There are vampires stronger than that little monster?” I asked.

“I refuse to believe that!” Venom growled, within me.

“Not necessarily,” Edward sighed, “Jane and Alec are the Volturi’s most powerful offensive weapons, but not their most terrifying weapons,” well ain’t that confusing.

“Explain?” I asked.

“Chelsea, she can break us in an instant, and we would never even notice,” Edward sighed, “She is gifted with the supernatural talent of influencing the emotional ties between people, either by weakening or strengthening them…. she can’t make Alice and you hate us… with a simple glance,”

“For fuck’s sake!” Venom hissed.

“She’s the Volturi’s most prized possession, she’s behind all their power, and is the reason why they have been undefeated for thousands of years,” Edward added.

The power to manipulate emotions to such levels… it was a terrifying thought, but if she was the back bone behind the power the Volturi had, then there was no way they would let her out in the open, risking someone killing her.

“Well, for the moment I will focus on not being useless as soon as that midget looks at me,” I chuckled.

[Aro POV]

Carlisle always had rather fortunate luck, finding unique vampires, first he got Edward with his wonderful ability to read minds, then Alice… and now, Jack… the monstrous vampire whose physical prowess was apparently above all vampires in our kind.

I couldn’t wait to replace Felix with him, but that would have to wait, Alice and Jack would eventually be mine, or that there was no doubt, but all in time.

I hated Alaska, even with ten heaters alone in my room, the moment I stepped out of that room without Venom covering me, I would shake like a fucking chihuahua on cocaine with Parkinson’s.

“When are we leaving this hellhole,” I grumbled, making everyone chuckle.

Carlisle sighed, while the Denali coven pouted at my remark of their living place, “In five years or so, we plan to move back to forks at the beginning of 2003,” he informed.

“I don’t know why you complain… you can turn into Venom and be okay with the cold,” Emmett snickered, and I glared at him.

“I don’t sleep as Venom,” I reminded him, through gritted fangs, “And even with ten heaters, I feel my ass falling off,”

“I could always warm up your bed,” Tanya winked at me, and I shuddered ever so lightly making Edward the only one able to read my mind to laugh, “what’s so funny?” she asked Edward defensively.

“Nothing, just an inside joke,” Edward placated with his hands.

“Anyways….” I drawled, “I will go read a book, to pass the time,” with that I jumped out of the house, leaving the cold bastards alone.

Outside, Alice was waiting for me book at hand, “I knew you would come out to read,” at this I gave her a look that said, I know that’s not how your power works and she giggled, “I didn’t…. but I know you, and you always like to read outside, so I always keep a good book at hand in case this happens,” she admitted, “I’m a good sister I know,”

“That you are,” I nodded, with a smile.

“Any sights of the future worth mentioning?” I asked her, and she nodded.

“You and Edward will find love very soon,” Alice grinned and I stared at her for a brief second, wondering… was this a joke?

“Maybe your future vision is broken,” I snorted.

“They all say that, but beforeeeee they know, I am planning their wedding!” Alice giggled, jumping around me like a bunny on crack, “I have already planned over twenty plans for your wedding alone, I would have less… but I can’t seem to see how my future sister looks like, which is weird…”

“Who knows, maybe she’s special,” I chuckled, playing along with her.

“Maybe she is,” Alice nodded with a dreamy smile.
