A spur of the moment trip that ended up going completely awry, but then it was saved by this lovely lady.

I originally flew to Portland for a quick trip with another friend and she ended up bailing for most of the time we were suppose to shoot. I had booked this beautiful hotel on the east side of Portland and suddenly no one to shoot in it. I rattled through my head of whom I could possible have come over and put this space to good use. I got in contact with every person who I knew in Portland; photographers, models, friends. Since it was so last minute everyone was already busy, but then I remember that Amber had just moved to Portland from a nomadic lifestyle. She was delighted to get my call and we immediately set up a time to start the next day.

Almost every day in Portland that I have ever experienced always begins the same. A grand rising greeted with partly cloudy skies, the sun peeking through to say hello and a brisk wind across the skin. This trip was no different. I threw on my denim jacket and began the day with a brief walk to the nearest local coffee shop. Cold brew in the left and a cigarette in the right, I began to walk back to the hotel and take in the beautiful scenery the East Side of Portland has to offer. I remember so clearly going to bed stressed the trip was just going to be a flop, but I woke up with a clear head and a balanced mind; the coffee definitely helped. Amber was not due to come over until a little later in the afternoon so I spent the morning getting some edits done, catching up on Patreon and lounging about as one should sometimes do on a vacation.

The time flew and Amber was knocking on my hotel door. It was the first time I had seen Amber in months since she had left Los Angeles. It is always so refreshing and delighting to be in her presence. We spent the first little bit catching up, going over the outfits she had brought and getting all of the film things set in order. The cardinal rule is to never start with your favorite look or outfit. Always warm up first, get the ebb and flow, then and only then move on to your favorite. Needless to say, these were my favorite pieces Amber had brought, so we saved it for the middle of three looks. At the back of the hotel room the open concept bathroom sat. Complete with a walk in shower, some beautiful hazed glass and absolutely killer light from the back. Amber and I took full advantage of this bathroom especially with the sheer set letting the light pass through. I think one of my favorite things about this set is her reflection off to the right of some of the images. Enjoy!
