Raging Swan Press recently released a 5e edition of Shadowed Keep on the Borderlands. Part of the design process (beyond converting the adventure to 5e) was to make it better. I’ve learnt a lot about design in the eight years since the adventure first released. These improvements include extra details about Dulwich, fleshing out the surrounding area, new gorgeous maps by Tommi Salama, more original art from Matt Morrow and a better, easier to use layout.

I couldn’t not bring those changes to the Pathfinder 1 edition. (And given the results of our recent edition/game poll I’m wondering if I should do the same for an OSR edition).

This week’s release is the result. Behold the Shadowed Keep, in all its upgraded Pathfinder 1 glory.

About the Shadowed Keep

Hidden deep in the borderland forest, bandits lurk in the ruined castle of a long-dead border lord. Their incessant raids draw a band of neophyte heroes to the derelict keep. There they discover fouler, more odious dangers lurk below the ruins.

Dare you brave the terrors of the Shadowed Keep to crush that which lurks within or will darkness shroud the surrounding lands?

Shadowed Keep on the Borderlands is an adventure for 1st-level characters compatible with the 1st edition of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. Designed for the Duchy of Ashlar campaign setting the adventure can be easily inserted into a GM's home campaign.

Where's My Stuff?

By the time you get this everyone at the $2 and up levels should have a message from me containing the special secret download code for this book. Normally, because of the retail value of the Shadowed Keep on the Borderlands, it would only go out to $5 and up patrons, but I have such a massive soft spot for the adventure that I want as many of you as possible to have copies!

You might notice this week that you’ve got more codes than you should; that’s because I’ve re-issued the links for the 5e edition just to make sure everyone has them. Patrons at the $5 and up levels also get all the relevant print codes.

Just drop it/them into your browser and you should be good to go. If you have any problems, drop me a line and I'll sort it out for you.

Remember, also, you can download the Shadowed Keeps maps for free here. (Obviously, the maps are System Neutral).

The Gameatory

This week on the Gameatory, I start a new series of posts designed to show you what a publisher from home gets up to on a weekly basis, I reveal my “genius" new strategy to make my own campaign better and I reveal some photos of the local coastline that helped inspire the Lonely Coast.

Many of my posts at the Gameatory are for everyone. A few—mainly pertaining to things my players should not know—are member-only. Sign up for a paid account to see everything (including insights and secrets about the Ashlar campaign setting) and join our exclusive Slack channel. I hope to see you there!

Thank You

Thank you for supporting Raging Swan Press. It is because of you we have most of our hit points (and perhaps our sanity points) left. If there is anything you’d like to see us release in the future please drop me a line.

Have an epic weekend, and remember: Everything is Better with Tentacles—particularly isolated keeps…
