Last week, we presented 20 Things #48: Ruined City. This week, we travel to Macrimei--a village standing above and within a ruined city! (Sometimes my plans *do* reach fruition).

John Bennett is one of Raging Swan Press's longest serving freelancers. If memory serves, he wrote his first piece for us back in 2010. Macrimei 2.0--a village he first described back in 2016--is his return to the fold. I loved Macrimei the first time around and I hope you enjoy it as much this time. John, more than most, shares my love of pulp sword and sorcery fiction and Macrimei is well rooted in this genre. I don't want to spoil too much so I'll simply say  I hope you get a chance over the coming few days to check out Macrimei and its many (ancient and surprising) secrets.

Macrimei 2.0 is available in 5e, OSR, Pathfinder 1 and Pathfinder 2 editions.

About Macrimei

Nestled between desolate, windswept hills the village of Macrimei is home to a hard people. Dung fires warm their homes built from the ruins of an ancient buried city whose remnants can be seen in the tumbled stones scattered about and the massive red-hued obelisk looming over the settlement. The Red Obelisk, said to be home to Macrimei’s god, has attracted the attentions of a band of raiders led by an evil wizard, who dwells in a mysterious black tower and seeks to uncover the ruin’s buried secrets. Now, Macrimei’s villagers live in sullen fear as the raiders capture people from the surrounding area to dig a deep pit to intersect with the ruins below.
