Ten years ago this month, Raging Swan Press slithered into the light from the dark shadows in which it had lurked. We released our first three products—Retribution, Swallowfeld and The Lonely Coast—and began our (noble) quest to make GMs’ lives easier.

I am delighted to return to the Lonely Coast this week, although I wish the circumstances were better. This 90-page sourcebook (available in OSR and Pathfinder 1) presents full details of the Lonely Coast along with its four villages (Bossin, Hosford, Oakhurst and Swallowfeld) and the vibrant, frontier town of Wolverton. I hope to create a 5e version of the Lonely Coast in the near future, but I’m still grappling with a couple of logistical (and setting) issues to make that happen.

About The Lonely Coast

The furthest flung outpost of a mighty kingdom, turbulent waters and forbidding, trackless forests separate the folk of the Lonely Coast from civilisation’s gaudy lights and soft pleasures. Pirates and slavers ply the southern storm-tossed waters while goblins and other foul things creep through the gloom of the Tangled Wood that seemingly chokes the forgotten holds and sacred places of the Old People. Deep within the forest, a narrow, rock-choked defile piled deep with shadow cuts through a nameless range of rugged, tree-shrouded hills birthing dark, fearsome legends of terrifying monsters and glittering, doom-laden treasures. The perils of the Lonely Coast are legion and thus there is always a need for those with stout hearts and skill with blade and spell, or for those merely hungry for glory, to defend humanity’s most tenuous enclave.

Free Maps Download

The Lonely Coast’s all-new maps by Tommi Salama are now available for free download from our website.

Where's My Stuff?

As always, by the time you get this you should have a message from me containing your special secret download codes. Just drop them into your browser and you should be good to go. If you have any problems, just drop me a line and I'll sort it out for you.

Normally, The Lonely Coast would only be a free download for $5 and up patrons, based on the books full retail price. However, I'm very keen for everyone to stay inside (and safe) so I'm making the PDF available to everyone.

(Which brings me on to my next subject)

Stay Safe and Healthy

Wherever you are on the globe, it is likely you are suffering the effects of the world’s fight against Coronavirus. I hope you are and remain healthy. It is a hard time, but I’m confident that we will come through it together.

I’m in the UK and we’ve been asked (politely, if it wouldn’t be too much bother) to practise social isolation. Thus, I lurk in Global HQ. In many ways it’s frustrating, but it gives me time to—among other things—think and read. If you are trapped in a similar situation, I wanted to provide something beyond The Lonely Coast for you to read to pass the time.

It seemed like madness to pick just one or two books for you so I’ve hit on the following scheme—a special code for our store. The code gives you a $6.90 credit at the Raging Swan Press store. I know it’s not a lot, but it is enough for two of our smaller releases. Pick what you want, enter PATREONREAD at checkout and download your free books. (Or you can put the credit towards a bigger book or bundle if you fancy).

Once you’ve done that, head to your comfiest chair and settle in (preferably with the beverage of your choice)! The code is valid to the end of the month, and I hope you find something you fancy reading.

Advance Notice

I wanted to give advance notice that I am likely—at some point—disappear for a week or so. My wife is a medical doctor on the front line of the fight and it is likely that she will contract the disease, as a result of her efforts. Obviously, at that time the tables will turn and I will work my healing magic on her!

Thank You!

As always—and particularly now—thank you for your support. I appreciate beyond words your support; you make possible what we do here at Global HQ. If there is some way Raging Swan Press can help you get through the next couple of weeks and months don't hesitate to drop me a line.

Have a good weekend,

C
