You might remember last week, I asked if you used a GM screen. Roughly 80% of you do use a a screen and so this week, I am revealing the sinister reason for that question!

I've been giving a lot of thought to how I can make your games easier to run and how you could actually use our products "in game" without your players realising what you are doing. Thus will they be amazed by your amazingness before showering you in pizza and adulation.

To that end, I've uploaded two (draft, pre-release) instalments in a line I'm calling "GM's Screen" to this poll. Please download them and take a look. (They are drafts, though, so some typos may yet lurk within).

I'd love to know what you think via the poll below. I think the rating system is pretty self explanatory, but if you have any questions or suggestions I'd love to see them in the comments below. I'd be particularly interested to know:

  • Would you use these products?
  • Would you like more or less detail on the tables? (But remember, more detail equals less entries).
  • What subject(s) should I cover with a GM's Screen release?

Each instalment has only one page of content. I've deliberately kept the product small so it doesn't take up too much precious space on your screen. The idea is you pin/clip/stick it to your screen and use the tables to add depth and flavour to the adventure without your players realising what you are doing. You could even cut up the various tables so they don't obscure the bits of the GM screen you regularly need to see.

A close read of the drafts will reveal they comprise material from previous 20 Things articles. Going forward I'd be looking at using a mixture of previously released and new materials. I'd also--like the Monstrous Lair line--be polling you all on what the line should feature from month to month. I'd love to create a whole line of these products focusing on iconic adventure locales--for example, Goblins' Cave, Orc Village, Undead-Haunted Crypt and so on.

Anyway, I ramble. Please download the two draft releases and let me know what you think!

(And--finally--obviously this is a free post!)
