I'm not sure what a herd of villages looks like, but we are all about to find out! This week, Raging Swan Press has nine Village Backdrops for you. Given it is the end of the year, we've taken the opportunity to update some of our earliest villages for 5e and System Neutral games.

All three villages--Bossin, Hosford and Oakhurst--are set on the Lonely Coast (our free mini-campaign setting). For your gaming pleasure, I've also attached a copy of the Lonely Coast to this post.

Where's My Stuff?

As always, by the time you get this you should have a message from me containing the special secret download codes for these books. Just drop them into your browser and you should be good to go. If you have any problems, just drop me a line and I'll sort it out for you.

Thank You & More

Thank you for your support; you have transformed Raging Swan Press over the last two years. I can't wait to see what 2018 holds!

And, welcome to our new members: Paul D. Uhde, Ian Brockbank, Dakotah Shane Ledford, DeAnna Ferguson, Josh Wilkins, Albert Savick, Roel Esselink, Tyler Verrydt, David Tannen and Zepphod who have all signed up this week!

I woke up this morning to discover Patreon have a new fee structure. This move took me completely by surprise. Having read (extensively) their blog post on the subject I think I understand their rationale. They seem to be looking at the long-term future, which I appreciate. I'm all about the long-term. Publishing is a marathon not a sprint.

However, that said, the new fee structure could hurt you and I wanted to address that. Essentially, Patreon (from December 18 so it won't affect any releases this year) will charge you a fee of 2.9% plus 35 cents PER pledge. For example, if you pledge at the $2 level you'll be charged around an extra 40 cents a pledge (or about $1.20 if you pledge three times a month).

Previously, Raging Swan Press picked up the tab (which I was happy to do as you through Patreon have transformed how we operate).

Essentially, there is nothing I can do about this change. If you decide you can't support us any more because of these fees I completely understand and I wanted to thank you for your incredibly valuable and generous support.

However, if you stick with us I guarantee I'll make it up to you. My plans are a little bit in flux right now as I only leant about these changes a few hours ago. My immediate thought is to increase the size of the monthly 20 Things release* (which all patrons get free) as compensation. However, if you've got a different suggestion please let me know in the comments!

*starting in February as January's release is already done and dusted.

Have an excellent weekend, and thank you again.
