CaptainCaption here. I've got a whopping 16 pages of insanely detailed character design information for the $10 and above tiers about Zach/Zoey and Ai. Give them a look at the links below:

Zach/Zoey Design Doc (Google Drive)

Ai Design Doc (Google Drive)

Please remember that the Zach/Zoey artwork in re:Dreamer is placeholder (and Ai doesn't even have art at this time!) Espeon and I have a lot of talented artists we're getting into contact with. Last time I checked, our "short" list of potentials had 42 artists, and we've been able to narrow that down to 6 that we really like and would use for a final sprite set.

That's a bit later down the road though. Right now we're simply commissioning colored sketches based on these stupidly detailed design documents above (Zach/Zoey are going to be in their school uniforms and Ai is going to be in whatever "idol" costume the artist decides on). The reason for this is to that it's far cheaper (not to mention safer) to spend a little on making sure we like the designs now as opposed to spending a lot on something that we don't love and being stuck with a mistake.

I'll be honest, I can count on a single hand the number of times I've personally commissioned a drawing from an artist, and that was for relatively small things. Doing that with a big and ambitious project like re:Dreamer is a new experience for me. It's a little scary, but there's a bit of excitement there too. We're getting exactly what we need custom-made. It will never have existed anywhere until that point, and that's what I think really draws me to the whole creative process. You start with nothing, but then you get ideas, and you mold those ideas into something real. You make a dream real, and which is what we're doing here.
