Here you see first my failure.

In fact, I had to redo the eye painting quite a few times in the creation of Thea.

The reason was simple: the material I was using as a reference did not match the face parts.

I should have written about this in my Eye Painting Techniques post...but I sometimes make this mistake myself.....

Eye painting techniques for intermediate and advanced eye painters

You should not decide on a reference material based on the assumption that it will be okay. This is something I will reflect on in the future. My apologies.

What I was referring to were the decal samples...

This was not very good. After all, samples are not always correct.

I promised myself that in the future I would use the original drawings as a reliable source of information...

Since we are here, let's look at the face of failure. We live with failures as our stories. To be honest, it's boring to show only the cool parts, and in model magazines, failure patterns are not shown for the sake of space.

I think it's quite meaningful to know the patterns of failure, so I don't spare them.

Watch and learn from my mistakes!

┃Failure pattern 1: Wrong material,size and color

I used too many decals as a reference, so many funny things happened lol.

HAHAHA

It is strange because when I look at it now, everything looks wrong. In fact, the decals I used as reference seem to have been printed larger, and I wish I didn't have to reproduce them so well myself.

┃Failure pattern 2: I didn't have time to eye paint it, so I applied decals, but...

We had a certain schedule around the end of November last year, and we had to make it in time for the schedule, so we decided to use decals in a hurry because we could not present the face as it was above.

However, as already wrote, this was unusable because the decal was printed in the wrong size.

┃Failure Pattern 3: I threw away my sleep and redrew it overnight to meet the schedule, but...

I couldn't even use decals, so I gave up on sleep and painted this while suffering from sleep deprivation and stress. haha.

This face was drawn overnight and definitely does not look like Thea... I couldn't make it in time, so I had to put out a video with this face. I am really sorry.

In fact, I had no time for work at that time, and in addition, I was very busy in my personal life, so I was not in a situation where I could afford to be busy at all.

After a difficult personal period this year, I was able to have time to carefully redraw the drawing under the supervision of Nekojira-san.

And I think I was able to bring it closer to the atmosphere of the original drawing.

It is clearly different when compared to the face I have seen so far. Huh? Is she a different person?

It is said that when a person loses his or her composure, his or her intelligence declines.

It is true that I did not have enough room in my heart and time when I making to Thea. So I couldn't come up with a solution to the problem at all.

I think I have learned that when making something, whether a model or not, having the time and mental capacity to do so will result in a completely different outcome.

I can only hope that this will not happen in the future.
