My friends, after tediously putting the tank together it was time to break it apart for interior painting!

First was the obligatory coat of black Surfacer (this took quite a lot of time!) and then the base color for the floor and some other components. There's not much info on the correct paint here, some sources say grey, others white, others green. I went with something in between, quite desaturated but still green... -ish. Of course, mixed without any ratios!

My thinking here was something like this: the floor is gonna be rather dark compared to the white walls, and it's gonna be chipped and dirty. And the interior is gonna be mostly shrouded in darkness... so what do now, huh? Make it as contrasting as possible! I wasn't too meticulous, it was all sprayed with a 0.3mm nozzle and I used 3 paint mixtures, each, obviously, lighter.

Once I get the walls and the remaining components painted, I'll hit everything with a fine nozzle and Ammo Shaders, so it's gonna become more intricate... but so far I'm having a good feeling about this!

The tank's base color is gonna be a dull green with a slight blue tint, so I wanted to make the interior color different, especially because I think the interior color on doors and windows wouldn't be white - so I wanted to make those parts, as they'll be open, different than the exterior color.

More spraying tomorrow!

Martin, did you mask off each edge where the panels will all be glued back together? I think I see bare plastic. I’ve never painted an interior on any sort of vehicle, so I was just curious how you do final assembling. Although I’m sure all will be made clear in your upcoming videos…😀 It looks fantastic. Big fan of your ability to make all of these things come to vivid life!

That’s what I call ambient occlusion! And no masking, as usual? 😮
