My friends, this weekend was spent creating the groundwork. Currently it's in the base-coated stage, so everything is airbrushed and ready for enamel washes and detail painting.

Grass was painted, as usual, with a mixture of greens, yellows, and some pale tan for the dry, long stalks. Ground is airbrushed with the same dust color used on the Jagdpanther - this way it'll match the earth tones on the tracks and wheels once the enamel tones are applied.

It's the first time I used a paintbrush to make long grass in large quantities. Without it the groundwork would look so flat! 😁 I finished the static grass application and it looked really boring, so I decided to add a few long tufts here and there and it started transforming the base so much I went to town with it. Now the static grass acts more as a "base layer" for the long grass.

More vegetation will be added later using paper plants, but that's one of the finishing touches. Right now I need to glue the house in place, fill and sand the back side, and go to town with enamels so the ground doesn't look like moon dust 😁
