My friends, painting the sign was one of my most exciting modeling experiences ever! 😁More specifically, the moment when I peeled the mask off and saw the result.

So I made a paper template in Photoshop, used that to outline the background with masking tape, sprayed white first, then red, and then I carved out the individual letters and sprayed the white and black letters. All with Tamiya paints. The black outlines were brush-painted with Vallejo, and that was the most tedious part!

It was a really tedious, but exciting task. I wasn't left with too much time to do anything else except base-coating the stones on the shed. Here's a small observation: carving stones is fun because it's more creative than bricks. But I really suck at painting them. They always turn out very cartoonish. On the other hand, they'll be weathered with remnants of plaster wall, dirt, dust, moss, etc. Guess we'll find out soon enough!

The plan for tomorrow is to finish the concrete and plastered details and weather the walls, including the sign (I didn't have the heart to weather it today 😁) so I can then move on to the roof and wood.

Hypers!
