Print them horizontally! It saves you time and clean-up.

Also, don't be afraid to distort them in the slicer software, you can easily adjust their dimensions for your projects. It might be advisable to make them slightly thicker, too, because they're rather fragile :)

I've used your 2 gallon British flimsy model, cut it in half, and distressed it using the sculpt tools in Blender. I'm attempting to make a beat up looking Tommy Cooker for a North Africa diorama. This will be the "tea pot." The "stove" will be a 4 gallon flimsy cut in half and distorted in the same manner. I haven't gotten that one to print properly yet, but it's been only one try. I can't get over how much 3D printing has opened up scratch building opportunities in armor modeling. I'm happy to share the stuff with you if you'd like it. I owe you. ;)
