Every day is a good day when you get to smell Mr. Surfacer 1500 😁

I figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to be more productive and lay down the base colors because something tells me I have a lot of work ahead with enamels and painting all those loose rocks and straws.

Airbrushing grass is one of the most satisfying things ever and nothing will change my mind on that 😁 The other is painting the ground and seeing every texture come to life.

The groundwork was painted in a way so it would match the first layer of mud on the Somua which was AK textured paste "Dry Ground". This (usually) ensures a uniform look when we follow the same steps. In theory, if I hit the groundwork with Dry Steppe and Loose Ground from Ammo, it should match the mud effects on the tank.

Something I forgot to mention in the previous post was the tree. Once I'm ready to attach stuff to the base I'll start with that one as I need to sculpt some roots for it. Then the brick wall, figures, etc... but that's a long way to go... Thursday if everything goes as planned 😁

Epic results once again Martin. Looks great. Hard to believe that you are relatively new to dioramas. It doesn't show 😊 You make these like the best of them!!

Thanks Paul, I'm trying to learn as much and as fast as possible so they don't drag the tanks down 😁 Although in this case it's gonna be the other way round, the Somua is really just a meh model 😁

Today way a good day, but you DID have to use your AK [textured paste]. Joke for the Ice Cube fans, there.
