My friends, it's that stage where the groundwork, static grass and a few PE weeds are all in place 😊 The vegetation is not done though, I'll be adding some laser cut plants after everything is painted - ivy, ferns, etc.

The ground is again a homemade mud paste: PVA, dirt, fine sand, all smeared over the surface and sprinkled with more dirt and sand. The tank was later pressed into the ground so it won't float above the surface. Track marks were also added with a small section of leftover Friul tracks.

Grass was planted with an applicator but the longest strands were added using tweezers. Here I also employed a few bristles cut from a paintbrush. Every element of the diorama is dry-fitted because I think it'll make painting easier. Any possible "gap" is covered with long grass (such as around the brick wall or the mile marker) and anything that will remain visible will be covered with some natural scatter. I added less vegetation around the tree as they sometimes tend to kill any grass in their proximity because they drain all the moisture from the ground.

The road marker should be enough to set the scene and I chose Liege as it sits pretty close to the German border. Iconic cities such as Antwerp or Bastogne had too long names which wouldn't fit on such a small surface 😁

Now I need to let everything dry so I can spray it, as usual, with black primer 😅

You can feel the fear and apprehension with the two tankers as they look towards the horizon for the tell tale plumes of dust of the German Blitzkrieg. Still think the tank is Donald Ducks mount but dude you have this one nailed. The tank figures and base are incredible and the whole scene just looks right for 1940. Cracking job.

Marvelous! It is so enjoyable watching your work and seeing these scenes all come together. So much more than just a tank model here, my friend.

Thanks so much! I was very stoked for this diorama from the beginning. It's even more satisfying when it's for a tank you weren't too passionate about, it just feels like a happy ending for the whole project 😁
