#70 How To Ease Your Partner's Nervousness About Kinks (Patreon)

This episode is how you can give a smooth introduction to roleplaying with your partner which will hopefully encourage them to participate more often.

When you’re trying something unfamiliar it’s REALLY scary because you don’t want to mess up and make a fool out of yourself. 

I experienced this recently when my boyfriend, TK approached me with a new kink he wanted to try. It was then that I realized how intimidating it can be to play a new role for the first time. There are an infinite number of things you can do and say during roleplaying, and the uncertainty made me extremely nervous. What if I said something wrong and make a fool out of myself? 

I've found the best way to counteract this nervousness is by clearly stating exactly what you want your partner to say and do while they’re playing this role. Once my boyfriend gave me specific phrases that pushed his button and/or actions it made things much easier. 

But talking kinks can be difficult. How can you ask for what you want without talking about it? If you've listened to some of my previous episodes you may know that one of my favorite tools for doing so is Tumblr. There you can make a free account to curate cute content to share with your partner.

And don't be afraid to start a conversation! You can get feedback in a roundabout manner by first complimenting them on something you really enjoyed about a scene you did. Then ask them if there is anything they especially liked or maybe were a little uncomfortable with.
