It's time to submit your comment for the second chunk of Chrono Cross! For this discussion, we're covering everything in the game from the end of Viper Manor through the "big change" and a save point in a very colorful place. Even if you haven't hit that point yet, feel free to submit a comment on what you've played. Please don't spoil anything after that point in the comments.

Submit one comment below and please get specific. Don't write a long review, please keep your one comment to around the length of a tweet. I repeat: please keep your one comment to around the length of a tweet. We want to get to as many comments as possible. Let's get specific, submit a comment about your favorite line of dialogue, character, Element, detail in the environment art, etc. The more specific you are, the higher the odds of us reading your comment during the discussion. We'll finish collecting comments on Tuesday morning.

Here's the first discussion in case you missed it - https://youtu.be/va0_nsRLTJ0

We're recording The Deepest Dive on Chrono Cross on Tuesday night at 8pm Central, and we're actually going to try recording it live on MinnMax's Twitch channel.

Shout-out to Korcha's lvl 3 attack! Just slapping the baddie's belly with his fishing rod. It has such a satisfying sound effect and feels incredibly rude. Love it!

I loved the campfire scene with Kid after Water Dragon Isle. Her monologue was surprisingly well written and poignant. It fleshed her character out in a way that we hadn't seen from anyone else in the cast so far. We learn about her past and her worldview and why she's doing what she's doing. They also told us a bit about her past while still leaving more for us to explore later. This game's writing continues to impress me!

Some more fun stuff from the game in part 2 that ties it to Chrono Trigger: - Names/characters: Luccia (Lucca), Glenn (Frog of course), Leena (Queen Leene), Harle (Marle) - Lucca is mentioned by name by Lynx, so we know she was around - Revisiting the old man in the library at Viper Manor and poking around behind his desk leads to a hidden room with a crashed transport (looks like the Epoch) and a Beach Bum (Nu) who can change your characters' name for you. - The Zenan continent, as well as the nations of Guardia and Porre are mentioned by Radius, so at this point we at least know we're in the same world as CT

Who is your favorite character you’ve recruited up to this point and why is it Greco?

This isn't really related to Chrono Cross, but I just wanted to mention a fun little tidbit in that Lucca teaches the player how to use Save Points in Xenogears so maybe that's what happened to her. /jk

Hey MinnMax, Have you changed your party? I am still playing with Serge, Kid, and Nikki. Kid and Nikki were my first recruits. I now have like 10 more but other than subbing Greco when Kid was ill, I haven't even wanted to use the others. Since the leveling up syatem makes no sense, I just look at the other recruits' stats and they are all so weak. Plus, like Kyle said, you only really have one slot to rotate party members! P.s. anyone know what happens if you don't have Kid in Fort Dragonia?

The secrets in the game are incredible! I found a “feathered dress” in a closet behind the tent you wake up in after jumping off of the cliff at Vipor Manor. There is no indication that a room is there. Anyone else find this dress?

This is my first time with Chrono Cross and the expressionist zone as you first play as Lynx is maybe my favorite shift in visuals in any game period. Just awesome.

This is when the game comes together for me mechanically to play my preferred way. I allocate all elements on level1/2 across the entire party. Quickly cast the level 1 spells the. Switch to next person to set the field the desired color. And then pull out the big attack/heal with field full. This also makes a mechanic that opens in the next section easy to pull off. Through end game I prefer this method because the turn field color elements can only be set on an innate character. I want that character available to cast the "big spell."

Those dwarves cursing mankind all the while wiping out the poor fairies. I felt so bad for Razzly and her sister’s death. Did anyone else find the secret room in viper manor below the library that has the Chrono Trigger time machine, Epoch?

Please help me like the element system. This remaster needs a digital manual! I guess.

I just recruited Funguy and I refuse to add him to my party simple because he looks ridiculous. Why are his stats so damn good!?

The change in tone from choosing to not help Kid makes me feel like a grade-a asshole. Korcha really grills you for not being a true friend and trying to save her. I'm glad she lived but I would have sacrificed her for Glenn anyway :)
