Every year on Thanksgiving here in the United States, Jeff Cork, Ben Hanson, Leo Vader, and Jeff Marchiafava gather together to thank video games... by telling a lot of bad jokes. There are so many things to be thankful for in the world of gaming this year, so let's celebrate the year by sharing some jokes.

Please submit a joke about gaming in 2021 as a comment below, through the lens of "I'm thankful for..." and there's a good chance we'll read it during the upcoming stand-alone video. Feel free to submit as many as you want. We're collecting our 20 favorites. These can be jokes about games themselves, news stories, or anything else about the game industry.

I'm thankful that Jeff Bezos went to space, and that we all spent so much time thinking about it. Maybe next year he'll go to Disneyland or something

I'm thankful that a bunch of games are delayed to next year, so I can put them off when they release and play the ones from this year I've missed.

This year, I'm thankful for iTunes. While it crashes half the time, rarely closes out properly, and occasionally corrupts my old iPod Classic when I'm downloading new music, it's the price I pay for an ad-free experience.

This year, I’m thankful for Sony’s resident wordsmith, Sid Shuman. Where would we be without the great mind behind shorthand like “TEE-LOO” and “IN-SOMM”?

I'm thankful for Dustbiters, so that Minnmax has at least one tabletop game to cover this year.

I'm thankful to Nintendo for releasing the Zelda Game & Watch without including the Game & Watch: Zelda game. That's ok, we'll buy that when you release it again in 5 years.

I'm thankful for all the "Bad Dad" games released this year. Since video games are a huge influence on me, I cannot wait to become a bad dad myself. I think I'll start with abandoning my child while they are at a young age, only to then reveal myself as their father 20-30 years later. It's cool to be a bad dad 😎

I'm thankful for the chip shortage so that the "journalists" at Bloomberg can once again be slapped down as the tabloid hacks they truly are when it comes to incorrectly predicting the existence of the Switch Pro. No one gets to force the hand of sweet bae Nintendo!

I'm thankful that all of this year's time loop games reminded me that every day for the past 20 months has been pretty much the same. Life imitates art imitates life imitates déjà vu.

I'm thankful that I didn't buy Guardians of the Galaxy until it went on sale for $25... less than a month after release!

I'm thankful for gamers not hiding their lust for Lady Dimitrescu. It really helps others not feel ashamed or embarrassed about who or what they find attractive. With that being said, I'd like to announce that I find the pokemon Garbodor very attractive. That's one hot piece of trash.

I’m thankful for Metroid Dread. The game that all but confirms Scalebound and Pikmin 4 are gonna be incredible games when they release in the year 2029. (No, but really, I’m very thankful for Metroid Dread because it’s the best game released this year).
