My question for today is are there any live versions of songs so good that it almost ruins the original studio recording? I think the live version of 10th Avenue Freeze Out and Lost In The Flood from Bruce Springsteen's Hammersmith Odeon London 1975 record absolutely eclipse the studio versions in just about every possible way. Same goes for my recommendation for this week; Tattoos Fade by the World/Inferno Friendship Society from the Live At Northsix album. I will say the different tempo and more haphazard guitar solo still make the original recording worth listening to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6oiZLoAzmk

This is one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands. I’m mostly recommending it because it’s so different from most of what you’ve played on the show in the past. I’ve always loved the imagery in their lyrics and the variety of instruments they use on their albums. https://youtu.be/xhrCTPOft_A

I know this is a basic question but do each of you see yourself as more Simon or Garfunkel?

Matt, Jason, and Chris, We all know songs can bring back powerful memories, but sometimes certain songs can bring back feelings we'd rather not revisit. I remember listening to "The Heart Collector" by Nevermore over and over when I found out my parents were getting divorced. It's a great song and I love it, but it's hard to listen to anymore without bringing back those negative feelings. Have you ever had success in reprogramming your brain to not associate a song you enjoy with negative emotions after a situation like that? Really looking forward to the BÖC discussion and learning about Graceland! Anyways, here's Wonderwall... I mean "The Heart Collector." https://youtu.be/5cqaXTek_-U

Chris, Do you have an particular instrument you gravitate toward playing or like to include in your work? Are there any games soundtracks you feel are overlooked? Here's a good track from Dustforce: https://open.spotify.com/track/1vly0i2P5q4cYCX2LcYerc?si=B99OhCF1Q762KQsBLiNRJQ

Hello, are there any songs that are intrinsically tied to their music videos for you, so much so that when you hear the song that you can't help but picture or "watch" the video play in your head? For me, one prominent example is The Prodigy's "Smack My Bitch Up". I would normally link the video here but it appears to be banned from YouTube lol.

Hey y'all. You are Mario in New Donk City. Mayor Pauline has just sent you to recruit a guitarist, dummer, bassist, and saxophonist (or any brass player) to kick off the nights festivities. Who are the famous members who will be making up your quartet and sticking it to Bowser?

My song of the week is from the French-Canadian Prog-Rock band Harmonium https://open.spotify.com/track/64WmAhu6XNsfparUY7IGqW?si=oTh53cLqQq-0xl4KV9myJQ

Is anyone else getting a Van Halen vibe from Blue Oyster Cult? This is my 1st time listening to them beyond the hits and Eric Bloom sounds like a precursor to David Lee Roth. I also hear Michael Anthony background vocals

This is the best podcast I've listened to in quite a while thank you so much. It was so great to hear Chris (I am/was a huge Idle Thumbs/ Important if True fan). Two giant thumbs up!
