Paying people with variable revenue is the case for almost every business. I’m no expert, but you might get some guidance from other small businesses or startups?

Ben, I didn't post anything for the Miles Morales deepest dive for the same reason I have to skip listening to the show itself: I don't own it, and intend to make it one of my inaugural PS5 experiences when I join the new gen (probably Black Friday of NEXT year, when the bundles start happening). It's a bummer to see each part of the Dive release and have to pass on it, but I know it'll be around when I can finally listen. And I doubt I'm alone in that. It isn't a reflection of the quality of the game.

Hey Ben, maybe you could do mini Deepest Dives, like a one episode discussion where not everyone needs to finish the game and you can still read community questions. You wouldn't have to go as in depth and you could cover relevant games quicker like Demons Souls without committing to a full play through. I suppose it would by like an expanded version of the podcast game segments.
