We're gearing up for the grand finale of our gigantic discussion of Spider-Man: Miles Morales from Insomniac Games called The Deepest Dive, but we need your comment to read on the show! The panelists are Ben Hanson, Kyle Hilliard, Ana Diaz, and special guest (former Easy Allies member) Kyle Bosman.

This discussion cover the second half of the game, from the Nuform reactor explosion through the ending and beyond. Because we're continuing to grow, please keep your one comment to around the length of a tweet. We want to get to as many comments as possible.

Please submit a comment below with your specific thoughts on the game. Please don't just leave a long review, get specific. Let's talk about your favorite moment, move, time capsule, line, suit, anything specific. The more specific you are, the higher the odds of us reading your comment during the discussion. We'll finish collecting comments on Tuesday morning.

You can watch us record The Deepest Dive live on Tuesday evening if you're at the $10 Backstage Pass tier on Patreon. The link will be in the Backstage Pass tier on the Discord. Thanks for your support!

I did the Prowler's sound missions immediately after fighting him in his lair. I found that as he was telling me about my father I was also mourning our relationship. While I was hoping they would have added some small comments by Miles to acknowledge Aaron's betrayal, I still found them moving. So many games use audio logs to fill in disconnected side stories since they may be bypassed by the player altogether. These added to context for Mile's father and Uncle Aaron as well as the city and it's people.

Something that wasn't touched upon but I think that was neat is the moves you learn from the Challenges are moves from Peter's skill tree from the first game. Very cool idea to have Peter make you do a challenge and then reward you with a skill he learned himself.

The part that got me to actually cry was right after Phin’s sacrifice when Miles’s mom screams for her son as he falls from the sky and crashes into the cement; her pain and worry really got to me as she thought she lost her son. Any part make you guys cry?

If you would've told me two years ago that the Spider-Man & Tinkerer fight would be better than the Spider-Man & Doctor Octopus fight, I wouldn't have believed you. It was extremely high energy & almost felt like a Dragon Ball Z fight with the way they were throwing each other around.

I thought that Animal Crossing: New Horizons was going to easily cruise to "Nicest In-Game Museum of the Year," and then the science museum in Miles Morales came along. It was so fancy! Between the mask, the voice modulation, and attitudes that ranged all the way from "emo and sad" to "angry and breaking stuff," the Tinkerer really reminded me of Kylo Ren, especially in the second half of the game.

The bowls at the FEAST area that was set up outside the building were HUGE! All that work Peter Parker put in is finally paying off and everyone gets giant bowls of soup.

Just in case SPOILERS for the end of the game I loved the final mission and the ending of the game. Insomniac does a fantastic job of pacing and having having the stakes feel high with the all out war between Roxxon and the Underground in Harlem and the snow storm beating down on the city making visibility incredibly impaired. Gotta say I got a little teary eyed during the final cinematic. All of the residents of Harlem that Miles interacted with throughout the game coming together to protect his identity and declare him their Spider-man was reminiscent of the train scene from Spider-man 2 but had a greater impact on me. I loved it. From a gameplay perspective after finishing this I went back and played through a few hours of the previous Spider-man game. Is it just me or does the swinging in this feel significantly faster than the old game? Miles really books when making his way through town compared to Peter IMO. Lastly did anyone experience a bunch of bugs in this game or is it just me? I haven't had the weird issue with Miles turning into various inanimate objects but I have had multiple Teo's populate his bodega when I visit and during cutscenes with him along with a number of crashes, instances of the game becoming unresponsive when dying during side challenges, or audio cutting out during conversations mid mission.

Anyone else ever wonder how the Spidermen adjust the force of their punches? I mean the same guy that has the strength to HOLD A BRIDGE TOGETHER is also punching regular humans in the face and somehow not exploding their heads... Yes, I’m sure he toggles it way back when he fights, but every once in a while, especially with a new Spider-Man discovering new powers, don’t you think he might slip up and legit kick a hole through someone’s chest cavity?

You guys may not be feeling the haptics/adaptive triggers if you don't have the mic on the controller muted. Haptics and adaptive triggers automatically get set to the weakest setting when the mic is on in the controller.

Alright so that post credits scene: are we thinking Venom Goblin kills Peter in Spiderman 2 and we avenge him as Miles or what?

I finished the game wearing the 2020 suit and was amazed that the cut scenes accurately reflected this. When the citizens pick up my mask, it's very clear from the animation and sound that it's actually a helmet. And when Miles finally drinks upside down, the helmet has it's own unique way of flipping up to reveal his mouth. I appreciate the details they put into each suit, not just visually but how they behave in different situations

To preface, I LOVED the game but a few small quibbles: 1- the puzzles were meh, not intellectually interesting and they added awkward pacing to the game 2- Phin’s character felt a little underdeveloped, her “sorry” at the end of the game was laughable
