Straight!? Revamp Demo Preannouncement (Patreon)

Hey all,

So public post here and announcing the first Demo for the Revamped edition of Straight!? I want to drop the official announcement as well and run through a few things to orient people to what's going on and reduce any confusion.

This is Not a Sequel!

So this is a revamped version of the original Demo of Straight!? It will cover the Prologue and Day One. The primary addition to this version is majorly enhanced graphics as well as a soundtrack and sound effects. This version will mimic the original Demo that I launched back in October 2017 (which is kinda fun imo).

There is also some new dialogue and the writing is a lot tighter than the original rough draft.

This is Short

Again, this is only the first day where Zack and Braden meet, eat, shower, and go to bed. Think of it more as a Proof of Concept of what this thing can actually be, bringing the beginning in line with the visual and written quality of the ending.

It's Free

The Demo will be publicly available for free from launch. There is no associated Patreon tier or donation required for this version. Subsequent updates will be first to Patrons and then will go public after 3 week per usual updates. But I was really concerned about potential confusion on what this version is and I wanted to minimize misunderstandings so it's gonna be globally free so no one feels like they're getting ripped off. 

What's Next?

So I've already started working on CGs and some writing for the next update. Some of the stuff is already included in the code but it's a work in progress. The game code will not allow you to go beyond the first day. I have around 70 CGs done for the update after this one already. The holdup has been a few sound issues and just trying to find music for certain scenes. Hopefully once I get some of the sounds and music set, I can reuse later and that will speed things up (fingers crossed). It's insane how long I can spend looking for a music track (friggen days and still not find what I'm looking for). 

Release Date

I'm hoping to have the demo out this week-- ideally tomorrow. I have plans over the weekend and I'd like to have it out before then so I can deal with any initial download issues before I have to leave. Stay tuned
