End-of-Year Update! (Patreon)
Content
Thanks usually come last in update blogs, but that's not gonna fly this time.
On Christmas Eve I posted my Christmas special, and right after I went to a party at some friends' house. When I came home there was a FLOOD of new patrons, and that flood continued for days. Even now new patrons are trickling in. And I can't even describe how much this touches me. Seeing all those notification emails was incredible, and between this and finally reaching 200,000 subscribers (on the 25th, I might add!) this was really a magical Christmas. I really can't thank you guys enough, and we're so happy to have all you new folks in the comment section!
Well I don't have too much to say about upcoming videos, mainly because I'm still trying to figure things out. But here's what I know so far:
First there's the top ten games of 2017 video I'm doing with Lockstin from over on Gnoggin. This will come out tomorrow, and if I can manage to finish it up tonight I'll give it to you $10+ guys early, but otherwise I'm afraid I won't be able to. That's the problem with releasing videos on a strict schedule, sometimes it's just about impossible to get them done too far ahead of the deadline. XP
After that I've got a few videos planned for January though I couldn't tell you exactly which videos will come when. One of them though will be that review continuation for Super Mario Odyssey. The main focus will be on how it's got the best endgame of probably any Mario in existence, but it will also cover a few other thoughts I couldn't put into the main review for spoiler reasons.
Then I've got my "The amiibo Problem" video. I can't remember how much I've talked about this already, but for you newcomers it's just a video talking about the current issues with amiibo and how Nintendo could overcome them and use the things to their fullest potential. It's a pretty long video, and it could do with some fancy editing work, but hopefully it will be a January thing after all. (Lonely Goomba wants to focus more on his own channel but maybe I'll go poke him until he helps me again...) I know I'll at the very least wait until after the (potential) Nintendo Direct though, so early February is possible.
I don't have any other for-sure videos planned, but with any luck Nintendo will have a great big Nintendo Direct for January! And seriously, I don't want to get my hopes up too high, but the idea that they could potentially announce such a thing within the next few weeks has got me pretty darn excited. Anyway, at the very least I'll release a reaction/commentary video for that. Those are always nice because even if I can't get any ad revenue off them they still count as a weekly upload and bring in decent views. If it really is a big thing like January 2017 though, I'm sure I'll be doing a full discussion video talking about all the big announcements and my thoughts on them.
So that's a decent spread of new stuff coming up. It's fun to tease stuff that's further off though, so I'll paste a few ideas I've got on my idea list. None of these are guaranteed to become videos, but I'd say there's a decent chance. (And forgive me if some of these have been mentioned before.)

Lastly, very exciting news for those of you who watched the Christmas special, Family Member A has been approved by their boss to switch to part time!!! That means we've got one more work week of our normal schedule (minus Monday which is a holiday, so it's really only four days) then we'll switch to our NEW schedule, where they work four hours, then come home and let ME work for four hours. This plus the bits I was already getting plus, let's be honest, the evenings I'll inevitably keep giving up, should give me lots of time for making videos. This change combined with the recent surge in patrons has got me EVEN MORE excited for 2018!!! I'm closer than ever to taking over and running ArloStuff full time. It's absolutely unreal. Just got to keep pushing.
Thanks again you guys, and if you're new be sure to introduce yourself in the comments! See you next time!
