Veilstone City's Gym Leader Maylene is here!

I'll be honest I had very little hopes for Maylene to be any decent simply because of the fact that short hair just doesn't really look good in KK, since the main benefit of long hair is hiding certain disjointed parts of the weird shaped head model that KK uses. That said, it didn't come out anywhere near I thought it would.

She's actually kinda cute!

The only thing I changed - like with Gardenia before - is eye color. I'm not a fan of GameFreak's incessant design choice to color people's eyes the same as their hair in literally every case, except for their actual Pokemon which usually just have black eyes. Complimentary colors really enhance an appearance - think Redheads with Green eyes or Blondes with Blue eyes, etc. Pink and Blue are complimentary (as is evident with Maylene's outfit), so it felt somewhat natural to go with that.

While she doesn't use any accessories beyond hair and her clothing is simple, I think I was able to capture her outfit fairly accurately with it's default appearance. My personal favorite slot is her bandage outfit, which just uses three pieces of bandages to cover her up. When else would that outfit EVER be appropriate for anyone else other than the ONE girl that actually uses white bandages?
