Update #52 - Return to Lavender Town (Patreon)

It's nearly that time of year again, the best time of the year, Halloween! The weather cools, the days get shorter, and the Moémon spirits rise to play tricks on trainers.

But Ghosts aren't the only ones to be found stalking trainers in the night. After all, fear takes many forms, and not everyone is a fan of things like...

Clowns! Well, okay, Mimes. But close enough, right?

Mrs. Mime was first released quite some time ago and is well deserving of a redo. Beyond that, Mime Jr. was never released, and we also have a set of Galarian Mrs. Mime and her evolution, Mrs. Rime! Let's get this circus on the road!

(And yes, Mrs. is the female to Mr., and Jr. is ALSO the female version of Jr. I looked it up!)

Spiders are another popular phobia, as everyone knows (and some of you can relate..), and Spinarak hasn't yet been updated to her lovely new spriteset. Can't wait to work on Ariados.. she's lovely (:

Bats. Because, you know, bats. While I actually did a slight update of these in the past when releasing Crobat, it was quite some time ago. And now they have new-ish sprites that can be worked off of, and we have tons of new mods to work with. Since this is one of my favorite family lines, I feel like updating them again!

Uhh, Pollution, I guess? is that a phobia? Well, either way, I need to update these for some other plans I have in the background, but also because look!

We actually have a Galarian Weezing!

Goth girls. Yes, I wanted to do these before, but didn't have the chance. I'll do them this time!

What's that you say? "That's all fine, but where are the Ghost girls?!"

WELL, unfortunately, there aren't actually that many Ghost-Types to begin with, with most of them being already completed and not going to be receiving any updates - like the Shuppet and Duskull lines, all the way to the Yamask, Phantump and Litwick lines. Of the ones we don't yet have, not all of them have sprites yet - mostly the later ones like Sinistea or Sandygast lines.

But fret not, there are a few that we can still do, and some of them aren't even immediately known as Ghost-Types. Mostly, these are Possessed!

From Gen V we have the Automatons, Golett and Golurk. I've never actually played Gen 5 (Black/White + Black 2/White 2), so I didn't even really know these existed. But they're super cute so they get added.

Honedge, Doublade, and Aegislash (Blade and Shield forme). While I've never actually played Gen VI either (except ORAS), I did know about this line, since they came off as very unique. Possessed weapons. In Pokemon. Neat.

Dhelmise is a possessed anchor. You know what, why not.

Pop Quiz! What do Sableye, Mawille and Absol have in common?

That's right - Absolutely nothing. Except they're all Gen 3. Well, more importantly than that, I've actually released all three before, and they're of high enough quality that I won't be remaking them (they don't even have new sprites). So why are we talking about them?

Because all three have Mega Evolutions that need to be made!

Also, there's a few tweaks I need to make to the original forms anyways. Like, did you know we actually have a mod for Mawile's, well, giant hair-Maw-thing? Yeah, we do! So screw my custom one, I'll just replace it with the modded one.

By the way, the Gastly line was updated awhile ago. I'll be remaking them. On top of that, her ACTUAL Mega was made.

There's also a Gigantamax version but.. It's not quite done, and the style isn't the same, so I'm not sure if I'll do it, but.. if inspiration strikes, why not.

And here we have our spoopy dragon line, Dreepy, Drakloak, and Dragapult!

This one may be a challenge to make, but actually, I have a ton of ideas on how to pull off certain parts, like Dragapult's tail - how it suddenly goes transparent.. Oh yeah, I think I know exactly how to replicate that. Can't wait to see how they come out!

This is just a look at some of the stuff planned. Yeah, I actually have a few others planned - like finally doing Sneasel/Weavile, and the Snorunt line since they all got new sprites and Froslass is technically part Ghost but also because I've been meaning to update them so I can finally get their freaking awesome Mega Glalie out.

Anyways, there's a few others I won't mention yet because, as usual, I'm not sure if I'll be able to pull them off or have the time. That said, this month isn't over yet. I thought it would take longer to do all the sets this month but it looks like we're well on schedule. Surprising, given that this past week I've been extremely busy with behind-the-scenes stuff.

For example, I thought I updated to the most recent Better Repack 15 the other week. Well, I downloaded it and installed it to the wrong folder, like an idiot. So I had to fix that, as well as tinker with several mods, including the Maker Optimization mod which allows you to expand the accessory window to several more rows (up to 8) instead of the usual 3. I can't even begin to describe how much this helps me. I waste SO much time when designing new 'mons just LOOKING for that ONE FUCKING ACCESSORY that I SWORE I SAW THE LAST TIME but ITS NOT THERE ANYMORE and I have to scroll around like an IDIOT for 20 MINUTES.

Well, no more. I have a huge drop down box now and can visually scan like 40 accessories at once and pinpoint exactly what I'm looking for.

I'm not joking when I say this saves me a ton of time. I may even be able to pump out an additional set or two per month now just because of this time save. No promises though.

Anyways, look for the upcoming Gen 8 Water starter family coming up this week, as well as maybe a surprise or two.

That's.. I think that's all for now. I swear I'm forgetting something. 

Oh yeah. I mentioned some "stuff" I'm working on in the background. Hopefully I have more to talk about in the next update, but, consider this an announcement that I'll be making an announcement, maybe, soon?
