[Lavaridge Gym] "One with a fiery passion that burns!" (Patreon)

Gym Leader Flannery is here alongside Numel, Camerupt, and her iconic Torkoal!

Flannery is based on her official artwork, though some liberties were taken, particularly with her hair. The rest of her outfit is largely replicated as close as possible to her official art; her thick, almost rope-like belt is made with accessories, while her pant legs have red X stitches (made using an overlay), and her tube top is patterned using basic patterns built-in.

Overall, she comes fairly close to her official artwork, though some liberties were still taken to add my own style. Flannery is one of my favorites; there's something about redheads that just hit differently, you know? I toyed around with the notion of giving her blue or even green eyes to contrast a bit better, but I didn't want to deviate too much, particularly because the fiery eyes reflect her "fiery passion" as she is described in the game.

Alongside her are Numel & Camerupt.

Both of these were fun to make, but especially Camerupt, with her little volcanoes sitting on her shoulders. I took the liberty of "activating" them with a little flowing lava on the inside, which is fun to look at more than anything else.

Also with her is Torkoal:

Torkoal comes alive better in studio with smoke effects put around her, yet I still love her design. The Little Devil's Skirt felt like the best option to overlay that red-hot lava under her skirt and the rest of it came together on its own. The umbrella is rather unique too. I could have just used a regular umbrella, but I remembered this weird coffee-strainer accessory piece which somehow just worked? I dunno, maybe you won't like it but I strove for authenticity here!
