And after a bit of an effort, here’s the next part. And the end of this little interlude.
I’ll let the comic do a lot of the talking for me; hope it makes sense since I’m not exactly a salesman or anything. TL notes to follow, and my thanks aagain to everyone for continuing to support this work. Poll to follow!
TL Notes:
- Midas is a reference to the king in Greek mythology who wished for everything he touched to turn to gold. Funnily enough, you can succumb to Midas’s curse in Tomb Raider.
- 何たる大ボラふきだ literally translates as “what a big talker” (implying someone’s being rude)
- “Well-learnéd”: Couldn’t help but think of this.
- Lōkahi is Hawaii’an for ‘harmony and unity’; Kākou means ‘all of us/ we are in this together’.
- Ho’oponopono means forgiveness. It’s a call back to Part 29.
- Ceevee Beroba Jobs: a portmanteau of this fluffle creature, the Japanese name for this imp, and a particular job-seeking website.
- Agreeden Employment: a portmanteau of this family guy squirrel and another employment website.
- Litwicky-split: a portmanteau of ‘lickety-split’ (it used to be slang for ‘quick’ though it took on a dirtier connotation in recent years; I’ll leave you to work that one out), this candle (yes, there is one), and this movie.
- “Inspired Exemplum (or) Risky Guises?” is a really hard-reach phoentic riff on Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Hence the fancy dialog box. And yeah, those eyes…
