Corrupted package: Mystery solved? (Patreon)

So, one of my patrons threw some light on me and seems that the problem wasn't the package downloading corrupted, BUT a conflict with the same file that you might had in your mods folder.

So, if you downloaded the updated hairs and you see there's a corrupted one, that's because you have the same hair twice, maybe a previous version of it.

For those that had the issue, could you check if this is true? If it is, tonight I'm going to sleep so freaking good, this issue with corrupted files is driving me crazy 😂

One of the reasons this happened could be because I merged all packages into one, so I reverted that. Also because a patron asked me if it's possible to keep just the base (without chunky/bicolour) and if I offer you merged package that option is removed.

well for me the .rar folder was corrupted and it showed a pop up when I extracted it that the file was corrupted. But I just deleted that and redownload with no issue what so ever!

That can also be that I saved one file as .rar instead of .zip and later renamed it to .zip 😂 but all the files were meant to be .zip. I was just so tired an exhaused from Eivor's hair that making those mistakes would be so typical me hahahahaha

for me the highlight hair that was in my hats or whatever, no longer is there. deleted all the hair from you and reinstalled all of them and still having the issue. idk what im doing wrong

So I came into all of this confusion this evening, after reading a bunch of stuff about dowloading this, and removing that stuff, I downloaded the new Base: The Chromatic Collection 1: Base (Version 1.2 28/02/2021), I chose the one with the Slider, made sure old base was deleted, then added new base. BLAAAHHH Wrong answer, corrupt file, S4 would not even open. Deleted Slider version, then added non-slider version (non HQ), and Bing! Bing! Bing! Success...BTW TY ANTO, LUV your dedication, and insane talent. You are truly One of a Kind!

I just tried using that exact version and the game loaded fine 😔 This situation with corrupt files is overwhelming me, I want to help you all but I am so unsure about what's causing this issue. I even tried leaving both packages "Anto_S4Textures_Chromatic1_Base_1.1_NonHQ" and "Anto_S4Textures_Chromatic1_Base_v1.2_NonHQ_Sliders", the game opened, and I could use the hairs on my sims... My only guess is that the slider version file is bigger and if your connection was weak at the moment you downloaded it maybe the browser got an issue with that, but I'm not 100% sure 😢

Finally got the hairs to work for me... i had to download via my phone and transfer to my pc lmao im just glad ive got them working or most if not all of my sims would be bald when i dont want them to be

i downloaded mine with no isses :) so it must be a problem on the end of the downloader ... mine never corrupted and my game works perfectly fine and im able to use the hairs with no issue infact i didn't even know about any issue until i seen this post, i thought i might not of been up to date with your downloads so i went and checked my mods folder to see if i was and i have every piece of your content up to date including the package that seems to be corrupting so i can only see the issue been when people are downloading them or something, hope this helps <3

The issue is with the post where you can download all at once. When I downloaded each hair individually it worked...

the steps you mentioned in here, they work, and also, the reason mine didn't when i brought it up was on my part because i never realized i needed to still download the updated chromatic collection! it works now, and i am having so much fun using the hair!

I was having this issue until I redownloaded each one, then it worked. Now I'm having an issue in cas. Each hair is missing pieces, some one half is missing, other are the hairline, the tips. Not sure if theres anything I can do to fix this.

Thank you very much for letting me know, it kind of leaves my mind in peace now hahaha, but it's so strange that people still get corrupted files. Must be something at server side.... I will see if I can do something about it. Thanks once again hahaha

It's very strange as both posts have the exact same link... maybe it only happens if people download all hairs at once, the server slows down and breaks the file... Not sure, just a guess 😂

Those might be the chunky and bicolour versions of the hair (you need to select in hats/gloves/rings the texture that goes to the other half)

Mine does the same thing when they shower/bathe in the bathtub as well. I don't think there is anything that can be done, due to them being "naked" when this animation happens and the second texture is an accessory or hat. 💖
