Download issues (Patreon)

Hi there.

First of all, I have to apology for all the issues that the download links have been giving to some of you. I am so lost regarding it and I want to find what's causing the issue.

I've tried downloading the files from Edge (Windows), Safari (Mac), Chrome (Windows), Chrome (Mac), and I tried them in Sims 4 for Windows and Mac. It worked every time. In Chrome for Windows I even installed AdBlock, thinking that something like this could be involved, but it still worked...

For those that had/still have the issue, could you tell me in comments what OS you have, the browser you used, and if you have any extension (like AdBlock or similar) installed? I really want to have this issue fixed as soon as possible, as I don't want you to deal with this again.

Also, for now I've heard 2 issues, download link redirecting to patreon and game saying the file is corrupt, I'd be glad if you also tell me this info as well.

Once again sorry about all the issues I've caused, I will try to fix this as soon as I can. 😔

i had one file getting corrupted but when i redownloaded there was no issue :) i think if many files get downloaded at the same time its a big chance to get corrupted files.

I tried to help you out, but could not reproduce the issue either. Despite AdBlock, Ghostery and such add ons on all browsers available to me, downloads worked and functioned in game every time. My suspicion would be Antivirus software, even if people do not have one installed, if they are on Windows it will activate it automatically. Not sure what you could do about that on your end. :)

I tried to download the shaved scalp and the hairs from the updated order post and I couldn't load the sims with them because it said they were curropted. I use Chrome and don't have any extensions. I've never had this issue before so I'm not sure what's causing it. I went to each individual hair post and was able to redownload them with no problem. Don't know if that helps at all.

I'm playing around with it now and I had no problems dl and no problems in game. I use Chrome (Windows.) Awesome hairs!!!!

The same with me, I tried downloading the Eivor hair, scalp and updated Chromatica at once and they all came out corrupted but when I re-downloaded them separately they worked fine. I only have Mcafee antivirus installed.

I had issues with downloading and saying the file was corrupted (Mac and with ad blocker installed), but only when I was downloading from the master post, when I went to each individual post for the hairs, it worked fine for me

all works fine on my side download on chrome for windows, loving the way it is now organised in the game as well :)

The downloands work for me but the game says the files are corrupted. I hope you can fix this soon :)

i downloaded everything again from the posts seperated and now they work. only the Eivor hair is broken.

I only had issues so far, that had nothing to do with your files... but with downloading too much. Or something like that... an error, that occurs with lots of files I download, not with yours so... yeah... not trying to get an elephant into your shopping card (or download folder) at once SHOULD help xD Don't beat yourself up too much, you are doing a great job! <3

It's strange because when I tested the downloads I literally control+clicked every link and download all of them at once... Yesterday I asked a friend who is a developer and he said that it's indeed very strange. I will keep searching for more info regarding this, sorry for all the issues 😞

Thank you for your help 💙 At least your words relieve me a bit knowing that it's not a widespread issue, more like affecting just a few. I don't have antivirus at all, and windows defender did nothing with the files either, but thank you for saying that, the antivirus might be part of the problem

It's strange as the post with the updated hairs has the exact same links as the individual posts, but maybe it's what some said that downloading too many files at once might affect them, but it's super strange. I will ask around and see if I find a solution, thank you very much 💙

Strangely someone said the same as you, downloading them at once caused issues while doing it one by one didn't, maybe it's some bandwidth issue. Thanks for letting me know💙

You had this kind of issue with other files as well? (that aren't mine) There must be something around that is messing up with people's downloads... But downloading many at once wasn't an issue for me, as every time I tested it in different computers I downloaded everything with control+click from the updated post with all the links together... I will keep an eye on this tho until I find what's causing this 😂 Thank you for letting me know!

@Anto it may be a file conflict I made a folder on my desktop moved all of your files too it just in case then redownloaded all the files from Patreon again, the Bicolour didn't work when I first opened the game so I re-added the bicolour and chunky files from the Desktop folder and now everything is working great, I could maybe have had 2 files the same which caused the issue or the wrong base file, to people having the issue may be just redownload the files it only took me 10 minutes to sort doing that worth it to get it working again for me

ohhhhhhhh, so it could be some old file that is not compatible with the new ones? something like that? gosh I should have left older hairs untouched 😣 and I didn't realize some people might not want chunky or bicolor hairs as I merged all packages into one, but hey, thank you A LOT, if that is the issue now I know what people can do. Thank you very very very very very much 💙

Jup, but it only happend when I was downloading Sims.packages ... and lots of them... but it happend a few times, so... so that is the conclusion I came up with. Since I have only 1 computer and 1 browser xD Suddenly Chrome saves the files corrupted... or just as "1" ... yeah, really just naming it "1" without any ending at all... no .package no .file ... not any point and ending. But because it only happend when I went on a CC shopping spree... well... Thank you so much for your hard work, Anto! <3 *sends cookies*

I downloaded it again. The hair shows up in cas but it is broken. It turns the sim red and white with question marks.

XD blessed and cursed cc shopping sprees hahahaha. It's actually very strange that chrome renamed the files like that. I use Edge (as it uses Chromium, the engine that Chrome uses, but without google's stuff, same thing as Brave and Opera) and I had no issues with that. Maybe google is tweaking more things than me hahahahah

You need to download the new chromatic collection update and delete previous one. This new hair needs new textures that I had to add to the collection. try that and let me know if it works 💙

I'm using FireFox, I have adblock but it's turned off on the browser. When I want to download your content, it redirects back to your main Patreon page :(

Hey! I just wanted to say I would love to see some bicolour ponytails and similar. I'm not sure if you've done any yet as I'm only tier 1. Do the hidden posts eventually get unlocked for tier 1 or are they only available to tier 2 and 3 members?
