Using NetMD devices in the modern day is a topic I’ve wanted to tackle for a while. I have feeling though that the wheels might have fallen off this video, it’s perhaps a bit too dry/esoteric a topic or perhaps I just didn’t get the approach quite right.

I’m still glad I’ve made the video though as it could help some people out…all six of them.

UPDATE: The video has been reworked in places to include the new information about the various updates that occurred while I was making it. Thanks go to Kieran for pointing these out. The new version is the one embedded and linked to above.

I’ll record a new Patreon update soon - it’s been a few weeks since I recorded the last one and I’ve got a handful of topics lined up to talk around. If you have a burning question that you think might be interesting for me to talk about, please post it in the comments.

In the mean time I hope you’re all doing well and as always, take care and we’ll speak again soon.

A) Patrons https://www.patreon.com/techmoan usually have early access to videos. I'll show the first version of a video on Patreon and often the feedback I get results in a video going through further revisions to improve it. e.g. Fix audio issues, clarify points, add extra footage or cut extraneous things out. The video that goes live on youtube is the final version. If you want to see the videos early too, you can sign up to Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/techmoan

Since I am having a binge watching old Techmoan stuff Sunday I am doing a shout-out for Part 3 of the Mission Impossible tape players!

I’d have to find my old research for the aborted part 3- it exists somewhere…I think.

Great video Matt.. I still listen to MD in my workshop almost exclusively (with the odd cassette, DCC or vinyl) - there's something about selecting music by handling physical media and inserting it into the player. I have lots of pre-recorded MDs and lots more I've recorded myself from ripped/download albums. I've used linux-minidisc for a while but after watching your video, I tried Web MD Pro & Platinum-MD and they both improve the experience. I normally use an MZ-RH1 for recording but I also have an N1 which I'd like to try, if I can ever find the dock for it..
