You’ll have noticed that I never get hung up on the Hi in Hi-Fi. I can get enjoyment out of pretty much any kind of Fi - it doesn’t need to be the highest of Hi.

However today I’m briefly visiting the other side of Hi-Fi - a place where the oxygen content of a cable might make or break your enjoyment of a piece of music.

I’ll be carving into my CDs with a £350 lathe because apparently this will make them sound better. We'll see.

Take care and I aim to get a Patreon update video shot in the next few days…so I’ll get to chat more about anything and nothing then.

Shaving Compact Discs to improve the sound (?!)

Today I'm using a specially made lathe that cuts a 36º edge into a CD with the intention of improving their sound quality. Is this madness...I aim to find out. ------------- Merchandise ----------------- New Techmoan Merchandise is now available. https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/nerdkeyz?ref=seller-platform-mcnav&section_id=37136753 --------------- SUBSCRIBE ------------------ http://www.youtube.com/user/Techmoan?sub_confirmation=1 ------------- SUPPORT --------------- This channel can be supported through Patreon https://www.patreon.com/techmoan *******Patrons usually have early access to videos******* ---------- Outro Music ----------- Over Time - Vibe Tracks https://youtu.be/VSSswVZSgJw ------ Outro Sound Effect ------ ThatSFXGuy - https://youtu.be/5M3-ZV5-QDM ------ AFFILIATED LINKS/ADVERTISING NOTICE ------- All links are Affiliated where possible. A) Patrons https://www.patreon.com/techmoan usually have early access to videos. I'll show the first version of a video on Patreon and often the feedback I get results in a video going through further revisions to improve it. e.g. Fix audio issues, clarify points, add extra footage or cut extraneous things out. The video that goes live on youtube is the final version. If you want to see the videos early too, you can sign up to Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/techmoan

Ha ha.. I don't think I've uttered the word 'b*ll*cks' as often while watching a YT video.. It reminds me of the old adage that "spending $500 improves your hearing and helps you really appreciate the improvements you just invested in"

Matt, that was hilarious, I'll consume my magic beans while listening to shaved CDs on my reference deck hooked up to a sound-bar via oxygen-free cables that cost $250 a metre and have all the crystalline domains longitudinally aligned... hmmm.. well..
