I’m starting off the year by reviewing a budget ‘DJ’ turntable picked up from the discount supermarket chain LIDL. Despite sounding multiple warning bells due to dubiuous branding practices and overstated abilities, there’s definitely still something of merit here.

This was a relatively straightforward video for me to make over Christmas. With little to go wrong, it allowed me to take Christmas day off and yet still get a video finished.

I’ll be interested to see how this fares. The original ‘Aldi Boombox’ video was surprisingly popular. Will a review of a turntable from their rival LIDL be similarly well received. The answer of course is no...but one can hope.

Last week’s video - the Plug & Play Train Sim - seems to have attracted a reasonable amount of attention now it’s live on youtube. It just shows that I still can’t predict what will be a hit or a miss. I’ll just continue my blunderbuss scattershot approach of making videos about things that interest me and hopefully some of them may be of interest to others too.
