One of the best episodes to say, I mean the struggle of Luna having to come to terms of forgiving herself even after others have forgiven her is so good, I also just love the whole thing of the one big epic dreams.

Also had references back to old episodes like Bats and Power Ponies from last season, which I can really appreciate

One of my top 5 episodes. This one really took a big step out of "Little Girl's Show" territory, and it's clear that the showrunners were more comfortable dealing with deeper issues than you might normally see in such a show. It was interesting to realize that Princess Luna never forgave herself for all the pain and suffering she caused as Nightmare Moon. Furthermore, she forces herself to dream of her transformation into Nightmare Moon... Every. Single. Night... so she never forgets. That... is crazy deep. Luna had been quietly suffering in the background for 5 years worth of the show, and nobody was the wiser. And then try to imagine how awful she felt when her self-made "solution" to her problems then spiraled out of control and nearly plunged the land into eternal darkness. The Tantabus was relatively small at first... and that was a representation of her guilt over Nightmare Moon. By the end of the episode, it has grown to an immense size as everything she tries to do fails and she thinks it's all her fault. Imagine now, back to the episodes where she personally stepped in to assist Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo. Each of them were going through emotions she herself felt: Fear of the future with Apple Bloom, Anger at a sister outshining her in Sweetie Belle, and the anxiety of not living up to what you think another's expectations are in Scootaloo. Luna recognized that each of the CMC possessed a quality that led her to becoming Nightmare Moon... and she took on the responsibility of showing them a better way even as she continued to torture herself for her past deeds. A kid's show! And a perfect example of a full character story arc done right.

One more thing I love Princess Big Mac, man I love that scene where he turns into an Alicorn

"Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" is the novel by Phillip K Dick that Blade Runner was based on. This was a fun episode, with a nice bit of character development from Luna. Seeing that her time as Nightmare Moon left its scars makes her more real. There were also a lot of neat little things from the various pony dreams: Scootaloo's wings and that brief moment between her and Rainbow Dash, Twilight drawing reinforcements from the Library Tree, the return of the Power Pony costumes, and Flutterbat. They also did a very good job with adding that slight touch of surrealness to the episode. Congrats on the vaccine! I'm probably not eligible for a couple months yet.

The creature is actually called 'Tantalus'. It actually comes from Greek mythology. Many shows take things from ancient Greek mythology. Maybe because they are so mysterious?
