The best and worst thing about this episode is when in the end Simon says "everybody knows your name" he forgot his name

Yeah those are probably mutated zombies and junk, and the mutated bubblegum, probably not princess bubblegum, but like an ancestor or a mother or... whatever it would be for sentient mutant bubblegum.

As for why, well the mutagenic bomb nuke. We went over that at the beginning of this season where we had a "what if" wish world where Simon stopped it from exploding by freezing it (and the planet for like 400 years) and getting crushed under it with Marcy staying by his side protecting the crown, in the first 2 eps of this season.

Some note worthy details about marcy this episode is she can eat regular food and stay in The sun dispite having gangs and pointy ears already

if Simon stop the bomb, the lich doesn't exist, the earth frozen, the comet didn't hit earth, world stay low magic, marcy grow old. if Simon didn't stop the bomb, the bomb goes off, the lich muted human, the earth hit by comet bring magic, candy life begin to form.
