Aang is not related by blood to Kyoshi. In fact, she was the Avatar before Roku who was the Avatar before Aang.

the thing you need to remember as far as the avatars indestructibleness is the last episode where he saw all the past avatars. yes he is incredibly powerful but he can be killed he isn't immune to death he is just very skilled but acting reckless can get him killed. it is actually discussed in the show later I have no idea when as its been years since i saw this this episode I actually thought was in the later part of season 2/3 but yeah aang isnt unstoppable but he is very skilled
