I honestly never got Uma's plan here. Bringing the wand to the Isle, under the magic barrier would render it just a stick of wood like Maleficent's staff under the barrier fell in the first film. With Maleficent, I could buy that she'd have the knowledge to use the dormant spark of magic in both the wand and the staff to, as she said "Bend both Good and Evil to my will". A, what 16-18 year old Uma, how old are they supposed to be in this? No chance, and she's lacking the staff as well. What I'm saying is, she really didn't think this through.
