As I mentioned before, Netflix has two episodes switched. This episode takes place concurrently with "Just for Sidekicks". I've checked, and all of Season 4 is in order, but two in Season 5 are switched. I'll remind you when you get closer to it. As there is only 1 episode left in the series, I recommend you use the two fan videos we suggested in place of a second episode next week. Together they are about the same length as an episode. I'll post them in the Discord again. This will ensure the future 2-part episodes line up properly. In addition, the first Equestria Girls movie takes place in between Season 3 and Season 4, which we highly recommend. It's no longer on Netflix for some reason, and in any case it's impossible to look up without coming across significant spoilers (the title sequence contains spoilers for the big reveal for some reason), so I've made a "reactor cut" that I'll post a link to in the Discord as well. It would probably be best just to do the movie by itself the week after the finale.

So the episode with spike and the pets was suppose to be directly before this one.

4:20 It appears that in the crash, Fluttershy got Twilight's cutie mark.

Not much to add to this one. Wasn't one of my favorite episodes when I first watched it. Still isn't. But hey, season 3 finale next week, so yay. Reminder: The season 3 finale was written in such a way that it could be a series finale, as at the time the show creators didn't know how successful the show would be. Therefore the show was picked up for just enough episodes to get it into syndication (hence, the shorter season).

YES. Adventures in Babysitting! "Don't F--- with the Black Lords of Hell!" "Don't F--- with the babysitter!"

Mistakes were made all around-- Ms. Harshwhinny should have given more of a description than basic luggage. Twilight and the gang should've made sure their guest was Ms. Harshwhinny. The nice mustang lady should have introduced herself. I mean, IRL, this is partly why people have signs with the name of the person (or pony in this case) they're supposed to be picking up. . I love that Twilight is starting to develop a way to calm her freakouts because of Cadence. . Yes, as others have said, the other episode and this one should've been back-to-back. It loses a lot being out of order like that. . True, the mustang lady was reacting to skewed welcomes, but who knows how she described things to Ms. Harshwhinny? Perhaps her description did include honest interpretations of the various mishaps and how the other ponies recovered and so forth.

Production order versus airing order. The two in season 5 were swapped so that the Nightmare Night ep would air on Halloween weekend. But per the order the production team made them, Netflix has them in the right order.

This is my biggest 'guilty pleasure' ep. It's bad, there is no way to defend it, the narrative through line makes no sense and there are so many moments of character holding the idiot ball. And yet, I still enjoy it. The individual scenes are all so damn fun, it's just the narrative connecting them together that falls apart. A few years later it was revelaed there is a reason for this ep being such a mess, it really was a massive mess and one big clusterfuck behind the scenes. The writers kept working on it, could never get it quite right, and the script went through multiple revisions as they tried to make it work till finally they simply ran out of time and had to go with what they had. The reason the ending makes no sense in relation to the rest of the ep is because the ending was from an earlier version of the script and never got updated in the rush after they had changed the earlier events. There are a few other eps coming that either you can tell, or the staff have outright admitted fell into the same issue of simply running out of time and having to go with a script they know is flawed but is all they have. Or other behind the scenes issues interfere with things. That said, the gag of RD splatting on the window is never not hilarious.

Same has happened in the episode where Main 6 got their cutie marks. (S01E23) Pinkie got her cutie mark appeared before even she got her cutie mark.. :D
