Discord absolutely stole the show in his first appearance, and pretty much everyone was ecstatic to see him again. Good for noticing that he's certainly not committed to being "good", merely not actively malevolent. You haven't watched much Star Trek: TNG, but the parallels between Q and Discord become clearer with every episode. There are probably copies of the eaten spells elsewhere, but Twilight being Twilight, she likely has all kinds of rare tomes that would not be easy to find a new copy. In general, vandalizing books is the sort of thing to make her excessively angry. Speaking of angry, Fluttershy's "NOT! YOUR! FRIEND!" moment is one of my favorite lines of the season.

Ah yes, Discord is a handy ally to have around... assuming he decides to play nice on any given day. Looks like Celestia knew exactly what she was doing when she left it in Fluttershy's hooves. After all, the only way to change Discord was to show him some kindness, and Fluttershy is the very representative of it. Also, good call out on the "friendship IS magic" line. I doubt the Mane 6 could've taken out Discord a second time if he really didn't want them to. He can alter reality any way he sees fit, after all. But he could be defeated by friendship. Powerful magic indeed.

There are actual Discord lamps on sale at an Etsy shop or two, IIRC. I want one too. . lol the yell is the famous "Wilhelm scream." . Spike can't use Fluttershy's element of harmony! He's the new Rainbow Dash!

It makes sense to reform Discord, his last escape showed that if the Element's lose their connection to their Bearer, the seal breaks, and being tied to mortals rather then demigoddesses means it's going to happen at some point, so better to not need to hope you have new Bearers when it does. Also, this gives us Tabitha St, Germaine's most pivotal and defining role in the show, the Gravy Boat. Anytime there is something just being unintelligible but clear someone making the sounds, assume it's Tabitha, she's amazing. This does a lot to show us why Discord is the way he is, he's not evil, he's basically a big kid who never had learn to play nice with others because no one was ever able to give him a reason to. Now he has one, but that doesn't mean he's going to be a perfect saint.
