The voice actor for Iron Will was Trevor Devall he did quite a bit of dub work for anime through Ocean Studios. For Example Shuichi Aizawa and Shingo Midou from Death Note and Genbu in Inuyasha.

Things are now in motion that cannot be undone... Time travel stories are difficult to do, but I think they pulled it off well here. "Metal Gear Twilight" was a pretty neat character design, and Twilight freakouts are almost as entertaining as Rarity freakouts.

The two main ideas of time travel are: time is rigid and any attempts to change the events are already accounted for; time is malleable and events can be changed. First option is more thought provoking and makes a good final twist, but has a bad tendency of making all events meaningless, Terminator 1 and Bill and Ted did this. Second option is more boring but makes a better storytelling device, Terminator 2 and Bill and Ted 2 did this... I think you might be noticing a pattern here. In this episode MLP went for the first option, I bet if they tackle time travel ever again they will go for the second.

This was a great episode that establishes some important facts. * Time travel is possible * Star Swirl the Bearded created time travel * Twilight has improved her magic enough to be powerful enough to cast at least a low-level time travel spell * There are monsters who are evil enough and powerful enough to need to be imprisoned forever in Tartarus (which exists) * Cerberus exists and guards Tartarus. Also, wow. Almost finished with season 2. Not really a spoiler, but from here on out the final 2 episodes of each season are a 2-part "finale." In addition, the first 2 episodes of each season from here on (with one exception) are 2-parters as well.

There is a review of this episode that I think you would like, but it uses a clip from a later episode(still within the second season) so I'll send it to you when it's no longer a spoiler.

im a fan of paradoxes, and this one here is so classic. we have a loop, which starts by itself and only by itself. so it actually couldn't even start to begin with, but its there...

I like the nod the Batman 1989 with Twilight's messed up hair and her wanting a mirror XD https://youtu.be/Dj2rQaj25h4?t=39

So let's talk about the chalk board in the library right before the break. It's got the actual formula for the Lorentz factor (gamma) used in Einstein's special relativity for.... wait for it... calculating time dilation. No joke, it's legit physics. Gotta love the attention to detail.

This was so fun. Also fun, the music playing during the scene when Past and Future Twilight are talking is very, very suspiciously similar to the (then current) 11th Doctor's theme "I am the Doctor". And now we know that Tartarus is a thing, and that Tara Strong did not know how to say Tartarus. Also, it's a very common fandom belief that Celestia knew what was going on and was there just to troll Twilight. As to the guards letting her in, she's Celestia's personal student, she's allowed to go pretty much wherever she wants. But her forgetting that, and a lot of her odder behaviors she did, is understandable given the shear amount of sleep dep she was under by the end.
