Adderbane

This was an interesting episode from a worldbuilding standpoint, as it introduces yet another sentient ungulate people. The territorial conflict here raises interesting questions about the status of Equestria's government, politics, and boundaries. This sort of speculation provided great fuel for fan works over the past decade. Bonus Background Pony of the Week: Braeburn. Named for a popular apple cultivar that's particularly suitable for cooking (it's a safe bet that there's some apple reference whenever a member of the Apple family is introduced). He's one of the few male ponies that has been introduced so far, and provides contrast with Big Mac, being a lot more sociable.

It was roughly around this time that some fans began to refer to Applejack as a "background pony," since there weren't a lot of episodes dedicated to her. We're definitely going to see more from her, but the nickname stuck for years >.< Appleoosa continues the tradition of cities and towns having puns for names (Canterlot, etc). Hopefully we revisit it again someday. Love that Pinkie ended up inadvertently starting the battle. Personally, I don't think Pinkie's ever dipped further than 4th place for favorite (main) pony. For worldbuilding, there is an episode coming up that I think you'll enjoy. Thus far season 1 has very much been an introduction to the characters, what their hopes and dreams are, and a little bit of what they're capable of. Hasn't been a lot of room for much else, but it's coming. :)

Oh i can think of one episode where Pinkiepie sunk pretty low and she is my fav of the Mane Six.

wow man really you thought nothing of it when the leader of the buffalo's pied that was just cold wow all those that pied and you thought it was just desserts. this was a matter of life and pie hehe nah seriously yeah the pies would be nothing but I think this was a safe way to rethink of the american Indian struggles I know its a very strong belief in the fandom but I have no idea what the shows actual stance was as I've never looked it up. loving these and the bloopers really glad i subscribed to patreon for this cant wait to see how you feel during season 3, 5 and yeah pretty much every season things really start to get more eventful as the seasons grow. honestly wanna see if you cry by season 9 if not we may need to get you to react to fan stuff and get your tears flowing.

Sadly, this ep caught a lot of flak, not so much from the Brony fandom as from the general audience (I.E. Soccer moms with too much time to be offended by everything) over accusations of being a horribly insensitive disrespect to Native Americans and showing the whole expanding west conflicts in a non-genocidal light. As to tanking the blow. Earth Ponies are just that damn tough.
