Also not a big fan of the diamond dog designs. This episode also carries over a bit of the "Looney Toons" style gags from earlier episodes (Pinkie chasing Rainbow Dash for example). That said, it helped me like Rarity slightly more than before. Still was by no means a Rarity fan at this point, but she was a bit more bearable. She does get better throughout the series though. No major background pony sightings, though we get a guest appearance from Sapphire Shores. So instead I'll recap the ones we've pointed out so far: *Lyra Heartstrings - Mint colored unicorn with a white stripe in her mane and tail. Cutie mark is a lyre. Often shown next to an earth pony named Bon Bon with a beige coat and a blue mane with a pink streak through it. (Cutie mark is 3 wrapped candies) *Derpy Hooves - Grey colored pegasus with a blonde mane and tail, and "derped" eyes. Cutie mark is bubbles. Clutzy but loveable. Inserted into many episodes as a nod to the fans. *Berry Punch - Plum colored earth pony with a purple mane and tail. Cutie mark is grapes/berries. Was called "Pinot Noir" behind the scenes by show creator Lauren Faust and is rumored to be the 'town drunk' (even though Faust said alcohol doesn't exist in Equestria)

The name "Diamond Dogs" is a reference to David Bowie's 1974 album of the same name.

The premise of this episode was rather strange, but I have to say that this is one of the first moments where Rarity gets to be super melodramatic, and her voice actress is REALLY good at that.

Side note to Lyra Heartstrings: Due to the strange pose she has when sitting (you can see it at 4:59 of your episode 7 reaction) that only makes sense for a biped, there is a long-running joke/meme that she is a conspiracy theorist, and searches for evidence of "humans" like how we search for evidence of "Bigfoot".

I simply like Rarity because she can be pretty hilarious at times.

Something you should look at is who wrote the episodes, right after the intro text appears on he screen saying the title of the episode and who wrote it. I think the 3 most well known writers are Meghan McCarthy, M. A. Larson, and Amy Keating Rogers. They stopped writing episodes after season 5, though one returns for one episode in season 7, one of them now works for Disney. I can tell you more when you get further in the series.
